Overview

This manual describes the Bradley 6322, 6324, and 6326 series soap valves, which are designed for dispensing soap. The document provides comprehensive instructions for maintenance, repair, and general care of these soap dispensers, ensuring optimal performance and extended service life. The information is presented in English, French, and Spanish, making it accessible to a wider range of users.

Function Description:

The Bradley soap valves (6322, 6324, 6326) are push-button operated dispensers designed to deliver liquid soap. They consist of a soap container, a dispensing mechanism (valve), a spout, and an escutcheon for mounting. The internal components work together to draw soap from the container and dispense it through the spout when the plunger is pressed. These dispensers are suitable for various washroom environments, providing a hygienic and convenient way to access soap.

Important Technical Specifications:

The manual lists different soap container options:

  • P19-151: Metal Soap Container, 16 oz. (473.2 ml)
  • P10-287: Plastic Soap Container, 16 oz. (473.2 ml)
  • P19-119: Plastic Soap Container, 32 oz. (946.4 ml)

Key components of the valve assembly include:

  • Adapter (P19-117)
  • Wing Nut (P19-121)
  • Shank (P19-116)
  • Escutcheon (P19-110)
  • Cylinder (Item 11)
  • Plunger Spacer (Item 13)
  • Compression Spring (Item 14)
  • O-Ring (Item 15)
  • Duckbill Check (Item 16)
  • Washer (Items 6, 9, 17)
  • Screw (Item 12)
  • Cable Tie (Item 7)
  • Wrench (Item 8)
  • Supply Tube (Item 10)

A repair kit, P19-187, is available and includes items 6 through 17, which are essential for comprehensive valve maintenance and repair.

Usage Features:

The soap dispensers are designed for ease of use in washroom settings. Users simply press the push-button mechanism to dispense soap. The different container sizes (16 oz. and 32 oz.) allow for flexibility in capacity, catering to varying usage frequencies and maintenance schedules. The design aims for durability and reliability in commercial and public environments.

Maintenance Features:

General Cleaning of Soap Dispenser:

Regular cleaning is crucial for optimal performance and maximum service life. Monthly cleaning is recommended to remove soap residue, dirt, and other accumulations.

  1. Exterior Cleaning: Use warm, soapy water and a soft cloth. Avoid abrasive cleaners on metal parts. Dry and polish for a bright finish.
  2. Soap Container Cleaning: Inspect for residue or coagulation. If present, empty any remaining soap. Fill the container half full with hot water and shake to dislodge residue. Empty and repeat until clean.
  3. Internal Component Cleaning: Pump hot water through the dispenser until a clean flow emerges from the spout.

Changing Soap Types:

When switching soap types, a thorough cleaning process is required to prevent contamination and ensure proper function.

  1. Empty Container: Unscrew the soap container from the adapter/shank and pour out all remaining soap.
  2. Rinse Container: Rinse the soap container with hot water two or more times until all residue is eliminated.
  3. Rinse Valve: Pump the valve several times with hot water until a clear flow appears.
  4. Alcohol Rinse: Follow with a rinse of ethyl alcohol (ethanol) and shake thoroughly.
  5. Air Dry: Allow the soap dispenser to air dry completely.

Soap Valve Maintenance and Repair:

Problems with soap dispensers often stem from soap residue buildup on internal components. Disassembly, cleaning, and lubrication are recommended for inoperative soap valves.

  1. Disassembly:
    • Remove the escutcheon using the provided wrench.
    • Remove the spout and plunger assembly from the shank.
    • Loosen the screw in the metal ring on the cylinder.
  2. Cleaning: After loosening the screw, clean the internal parts of the soap dispenser with hot water and a soft bristle brush. This step is critical for removing accumulated soap residue that can impede valve function.
  3. Lubrication: Before reassembling, apply a generous amount of silicone lubricant (e.g., "Dow Molycote III") to the o-ring seal. This ensures smooth operation and prevents wear.
  4. Reassembly: Reassemble the soap valve and replace the escutcheon.

The availability of a repair kit (P19-187) simplifies maintenance by providing all necessary replacement parts for the internal valve mechanism, including washers, cable ties, the wrench, neoprene washer, supply tube, cylinder, screw, plunger spacer, compression spring, o-ring, duckbill checks, and another washer. This comprehensive kit allows for efficient repair and extends the lifespan of the soap valve, reducing the need for complete unit replacement. The detailed instructions and parts list empower users to perform routine maintenance and troubleshoot common issues, ensuring the dispenser remains in optimal working condition.
