    Why won't my Briggs & Stratton 030679-00 start?

      If your Briggs & Stratton Portable Generator engine won't start, runs roughly, or shuts down, try these steps: 1. Ensure the start switch is in the RUN (I) position. 2. Check that the fuel valve is in the on (I) position. 3. Verify the oil level is adequate, or place the generator on a level surface. 4. Clean or replace the air cleaner. 5. Refill the fuel tank if it's empty. 6. Make sure the spark plug wire is connected to the spark plug. 7. If flooded with fuel, wait 5 minutes before re-cranking. 8. If the battery charge is low, charge the battery for 24 hours.
