DO - Set a good example by always wearing your seat belt. Make
sure it is a firm rule that the car doesn’t move until everyone
is buckled up. Make no exceptions for adults or children.
DO - Always check the Infant Restraint for heat before placing
a child into the seat. Plastic parts can become hot to touch
in sunny weather.
DO - Put the lightest passenger on the seat behind the Infant
Restraint if seat belts are not available on the back seats.
In an accident, a heavy passenger could cause more injuries
to your child than a light one.
DO - Keep the Infant Restraint securely belted to the vehicle,
even when it is not occupied. In a crash or sudden stop,
any unsecured child restraint and other loose objects will
keep moving and can cause serious injuries.
DO - Make sure that the Infant Restraint does not become trapped
by a folding car seat or in the door or trunk lid of your car.
DO - Replace any worn seat belts immediately. Remove the Infant
Restraint and inspect the vehicle seat belt periodically for
signs of wear, fraying or damage.
