Overview

The Brondell Swash BL67/EM417 is an advanced bidet seat designed to enhance personal hygiene and comfort in the bathroom. It offers a range of features for a thorough and customizable cleansing experience, along with convenient maintenance options.

Function Description:

The Swash BL67/EM417 provides warm water washing for both posterior and feminine areas, with adjustable temperature, pressure, position, massage, and oscillation settings. It includes a "Strong Wash" mode for a more concentrated stream and a "Gentle Wash" function for a softer clean. The EM417 model also features a warm air dryer with adjustable temperature settings for a hands-free experience and reduced toilet paper use. The bidet seat incorporates an ergonomic heated seat with four temperature settings (High/Medium/Low/Off) and an illuminating nightlight for convenience during nighttime trips to the bathroom. A gentle-closing seat and lid prevent slamming. For energy efficiency, an "Eco Mode" automatically lowers water and seat temperatures to one of two different settings.

Usage Features:

The Swash BL67/EM417 is operated via a control panel located on the side of the seat.

  • Stop Button: Immediately stops all wash and dry functions.
  • Rear Wash / Move Button: Initiates a rear wash. Pressing again activates nozzle oscillation (repetitive forward and backward movement).
  • Front Wash / Move Button: Initiates a front wash. Pressing again activates nozzle oscillation.
  • Strong Wash / Move Button: Initiates a strong wash. Pressing again activates nozzle oscillation.
  • Dry Button (EM417 only): Activates a two-minute Warm Air Dryer cycle.
  • Pulse Button: While a wash is running, enables pulsating water pressure (increases and decreases repeatedly).
  • Nozzle Position Buttons: Up and down arrows adjust the nozzle position during a wash cycle.
  • Seat Temperature Button: Adjusts the heated seat temperature through four settings (Low, Medium, High, Off). Settings are saved for future use.
  • Nozzle Cleaning Button: Initiates nozzle self-cleaning when not occupied, or with the seat sensor deactivated. The nozzle extends for manual cleaning after self-cleaning.
  • Eco Mode Button: Selects between two energy-saving options: Standard and High-Efficiency.
  • Water Temperature Button: Adjusts outgoing water temperature through four settings (Low, Medium, High, Off). Settings are saved for future use.
  • Water Pressure and Dryer Temperature Controls: "+" and "-" buttons increase/decrease water pressure (five settings) or drying temperature (EM417 only, five indicator LEDs). Strong Wash defaults to highest pressure.
  • Gentle Mode Button: Initiates a two-minute gentle wash cycle (low water pressure, front wash with oscillation and pulse) followed by a two-minute warm air dry cycle on Level Two (EM417 only). Water pressure and dryer settings are adjustable during Gentle Mode.
  • Seat Sensor: Wash functions only operate when the seat sensor detects someone sitting. This can be overridden by pressing and holding the Pulse button for four seconds.
  • Silent Mode: Activated by holding the Water Pressure/Dry Temp button for four seconds. Deactivated by holding the same button for four seconds (two beeps).
  • Sleep Mode: Activated by holding the Stop button for four seconds, turning off nightlight, side arm lights, seat heater, and water heater. Awakened by pressing Stop, Front, or Strong button.
  • Nightlight: Activated by default. Deactivated/activated by holding the "+" button for four seconds (cannot be done while sitting).
  • Factory Default Reset: Press and hold the Stop button for ten seconds.
  • Automatic Tank Draining: To prevent stagnation, water in the warm water storage tank can be set to drain and refill if the seat hasn't been used in 48 hours. Programmed by holding "Stop" and "Water Temp." buttons simultaneously for four seconds.

Maintenance Features:

  • Seat Cleaning & Removal: Unplug the unit. Use a soft, damp cloth and mild cleanser (dish soap, Simple Green, Windex) to wipe down the seat. Avoid harsh, abrasive, acidic, or chloride-based chemicals. For thorough cleaning, press the Quick Release button and slide the seat forward off the mounting plate and toilet. Be cautious of home and beauty products causing discoloration, especially with the seat heater activated.
  • Nozzle Cleaning: Press the Nozzle Cleaning button. The nozzle will extend and self-clean three times, then remain extended for manual cleaning with a soft cloth or toothbrush. Press the button again to retract the nozzle after three more self-clean cycles. This function does not work if the seat is occupied or the seat sensor is overridden.
  • Mesh Filter Cleaning: Recommended at least once a year. Turn off water supply, flush toilet, unplug Swash, remove bidet, and disconnect the bidet hose. Remove the mesh filter from the water inlet using tweezers or needle-nosed pliers. Clean the filter with a toothbrush under tap water. Reinstall the filter, reconnect the bidet hose, place the seat back, plug in, and turn on water supply.
  • Product Storage:
    • Short Term Non-Use (few weeks): Unplug the unit. Consider shutting off the water supply.
    • Long Term Non-Use (longer than four months): Unplug the unit, shut off water supply, remove Swash from toilet (using Quick Release button). Remove bidet hose. To drain the hot water heater, use a coin to unscrew the drain plug on the bottom of the seat (turn clockwise 90 degrees to "OPEN"), gently release the plug, drain water, then push plug back and lock into position.
