Why is my Bush Hog 2547 lifting so slow?

  Several factors can cause a Bush Hog Compact Loader to lift slowly. It could be due to hydraulic oil that is too heavy, a plugged oil filter, a worn hydraulic pump, restricted or leaking oil lines, a faulty control valve, air in the hydraulic system, internal cylinder leaks, or a faulty relief valve on the tractor. You may need to change to the proper oil, clean or replace the filter, repair or replace the pump, check hoses and tubes for damage, inspect/clean/repair/replace the control valve, cycle the cylinders to remove air, replace the seals, or clean and replace the relief valve.

  A noisy pump in your Bush Hog Compact Loader could be caused by a restricted or leaking inlet line, a low oil level, or a worn or damaged pump. Check for air leaks, restrictions, or a collapsed hose, and tighten or replace the hose if needed. Also, clean the filter and add oil as required. If the pump is worn or damaged, consider repairing or replacing it.

Check, tighten, or replace the inlet line, cycle the lift and bucket cylinders to remove air, and add oil as needed.

  If the loaded bucket of your Bush Hog Compact Loader dumps or uncurls when the control valve is in neutral, it could be due to a leaking unloading spool, binding control linkage or cylinder seals bypassing oil. Remove and inspect the unloading spool for damage, inspect/adjust/repair the linkage, or repair/replace the cylinders.

What causes the bucket not to move in self-level on my Bush Hog 2547?

  If the bucket does not move in self-level on your Bush Hog Compact Loader, it could be because the set screw is screwed in all the way, the dampening orifice in the unloading spool is plugged, or ports A and B or C and D are plumbed backwards. Readjust the set screw, remove and clean the dampening orifice, or reverse the hoses on the appropriate ports of the self-level valve.

  Insufficient self-level on your Bush Hog Compact Loader may be due to a set screw that is out of adjustment, a broken spring on the unloading spool, or a flow divider spool stuck towards the adjustment pin side. Readjust the set screw to achieve proper flow split, replace the unloading spool spring, or remove the flow divider spool and inspect it for damage.
