9.2 Mower Pre-Operation Inspection/Service
Before each mower use, a complete inspection and service is required to ensure the mower is in a good and
safe working condition. Damaged and/or broken parts should be repaired and/or replaced immediately. To
ensure the mower is ready for operation, conduct the following. OPS-R-0007
The operator’s manual and safety signs affixed on
the unit contain important instructions on the safe
and proper use of the equipment. Maintain these
important safety features on the implement in good
condition to ensure the information is available to
the operator at all times.
• Ensure the manual canister is secured to the
equipment with the operator’s manual inside.
• Ensure all safety signs are in place and legible.
Replace missing, damaged, and illegible
decals. OPS-U- 0011
• Perform scheduled lubrication as detailed in
the maintenance section.
• Ensure all decals are in place and legible.
• Ensure the driveline is securely attached to
tractor. Make sure the driveline yoke locking
collar is securely seated in the grooves of the
PTO shaft by pushing and pulling the yoke
several times.
• Lift Type-Inspect that the 3-point hitch pins are
the proper size, correctly installed, and secured
to the tractor lift arms with retaining pins
inserted.
• Pull Type-Inspect that the hitch pin is the
correct size. OPS-R-0008_E
All Safety Shields, Guards and Safety devices including (but not lim-
ited to) - the Deflectors, Chain Guards, Steel Guards, Gearbox
Shields, PTO integral shields, and Retractable Door Shields should
be used and maintained in good working condition. All safety
devices should be inspected carefully at least daily for missing or
broken components. Missing, broken, or worn items must be
replaced at once to reduce the possibility of injury or death from
thrown objects, entanglement, or blade contact.
