Overview

This document describes the Bushnell 4-Person Dome Tent, Model No. 30190 (Item No. BSN-8754F), a recreational tent designed for camping.

Function Description:

The Bushnell 4-Person Dome Tent is designed to provide shelter for up to four people during camping trips. It offers protection from the elements, including sun, rain, and wind, and features various design elements to enhance comfort and convenience for campers. The tent is suitable for three-season use (spring, summer, and fall).

Important Technical Specifications:

  • Dimensions: 8' x 7' x 54" (2.44m x 2.13m x 1.37m).
  • Capacity: Designed for 4 people in sleeping bags on the ground, or 2 people comfortably with an air mattress.
  • Tent Contents:
    • Tent fabric
    • 3 poles (2 large, 1 small for rainfly)
    • Gear Loft
    • Carry Bag
    • Rainfly
    • 12 Metal Stakes
    • Floor Mat
  • Fabric: Flame-resistant fabric meeting CPAI-84 specifications. It is important to note that the fabric is NOT fire-proof and will burn if left in continuous contact with a flame source. The original fire retardant and water repellent coatings may be compromised if sprays or other chemical treatments are used on the tent.
  • Water Repellency: The fabric is highly water-repellent, but the tent is not waterproof. Seam leakage can occur during wet weather. Seam sealing compound is recommended for additional moisture protection, especially during initial setup and prior to each camping season.
  • UV Protection: The special reflective coating on the underside of the rainfly blocks the sun's UV rays, keeping the tent darker and noticeably cooler. Prolonged exposure to UV rays can cause fabric to fade and deteriorate.
  • Frame: Strong frame construction with a 2-pole design.
  • Tie-downs: Heavy-duty tie-downs for stability against wind. Reflective tie-downs enhance nighttime visibility.

Usage Features:

  • Fast Setup and Take Down: Features a simple 2-pole design for easy assembly and disassembly.
  • Heat Shield Technology: A special reflective coating on the underside of the rainfly blocks UV rays, making the tent darker and cooler.
  • Weather Shield: Designed with water-repellent fabric and fully-taped waterproof seams to protect against rain. Strong frame and heavy-duty tie-downs provide stability in windy conditions.
  • Panoramic Windows: Large mesh windows offer enhanced ventilation and unobstructed views. Privacy panels can be zipped shut when needed.
  • Essential Gear Organizers: Internal and external pockets keep items close at hand and off the ground. A dedicated easy-access pocket for a flashlight is conveniently located outside the door. The gear loft hangs on the ceiling inside the tent, attaching to four loops.
  • Enhanced Nighttime Visibility: Reflective tie-downs, zipper-pulls, and piping around the door improve visibility in the dark.
  • Setup Instructions:
    1. Unpack and ensure all parts are present.
    2. Select a level site clear of obstructions.
    3. Lay tent fabric out flat.
    4. Connect the sections of the three poles.
    5. Insert the two large poles into sleeves, creating an "X" across the tent.
    6. Insert silver pins into the ends of the poles at each corner of the tent.
    7. Secure tent fabric to poles using black clips.
    8. Link poles together at the top where they intersect with a black hook.
    9. Prepare the rainfly: Using the remaining small pole, set both pole ends into webbing pockets in the middle of the silver side of the rainfly and tie the pole to the rainfly.
    10. Drape the rainfly over the tent, right-side-up, with the "B" logo above the door.
    11. Attach the four rainfly buckles and hook-and-loop tabs to secure the rainfly to the tent.
    12. Attach the Floor Mat to loops at the front of the tent, below the door, using two black hooks on the mat.
    13. Secure the tent by staking down the four corners with included stakes.
    14. Stake out the four orange corner tie-downs and the two side vents.
  • Take Down Instructions:
    1. Remove stakes from tie-downs, tent, rainfly, and vents. Store in stake bag.
    2. Detach hook-and-loop tabs and buckles from the rainfly. Remove the rainfly and detach its pole.
    3. Detach the floor mat.
    4. Detach pole clips and remove four pole ends from silver pins.
    5. Remove the two main poles from pole sleeves.
    6. Detach pole sections of all three poles and store in pole bag.
    7. Fold the tent lengthwise 2-3 times and roll tightly to remove excess air.
    8. Fold and roll the rainfly.
    9. Store the tent, poles, rainfly, mat, and stakes in the included carry bag.
  • Safety Warnings:
    • KEEP ALL FLAME AND HEAT SOURCES AWAY FROM THIS TENT FABRIC.
    • Do NOT use fuel-burning devices inside or near tent materials.
    • Do NOT permit children to light matches, operate burning appliances, or handle any flame sources in or near the tent.
    • Do NOT smoke, use matches, candles, or open flames of any kind in or near the tent.
    • Do NOT refuel lanterns, stoves, or heaters inside the tent.
    • Do NOT cook inside the tent.
    • Do NOT store flammable liquids inside the tent.
    • Always secure the tent with all stakes and tie-downs to prevent property damage or personal injury.
    • Keep the tent clear of power lines.
    • Do not set up the tent under trees due to potential lightning strikes or falling tree limbs in inclement weather.
    • In case of inclement weather (wind, rain, hail), remove all valuables and persons and seek appropriate shelter.

Maintenance Features:

  • Cleaning: Clean the tent with a soft sponge, a mild soap, and tepid water. Scrub gently and remove all soap. Let the tent dry in sunlight, which naturally cleans it.
  • Condensation: Water on the inside of tent walls (condensation) can be caused by breath, perspiration, or wet items. This is not leakage and can be minimized by removing wet items and providing good ventilation.
  • Seam Sealing: It is recommended to seal the tent during the initial setup and prior to each camping season for additional moisture protection. Seam sealer compounds can be purchased at local camping product outlets.
  • Warranty: The product comes with a 1-year limited warranty from the original date of purchase, covering defects in materials or workmanship. This warranty does not cover normal wear and tear, abuse, misuse, or damage from inclement weather conditions. Prolonged exposure to UV rays causing fabric fading and deterioration is also not covered. Replacement parts or products will assume the remaining warranty of the original product.
