Why won't my Cadet CE163T shut off?
    • D
      David JohnsonAug 13, 2025
If your Cadet Heater won't shut off, first consider that if the room temperature is being regulated and maintained, a low fan speed and low heat output is normal for this energy-saving heater. However, if the heater is running continuously, it may be due to heat loss from the room exceeding the heater's capacity. Close doors and windows, improve insulation, or install a higher wattage heater if your circuit allows. Also, a malfunctioning thermostat could be the cause, requiring replacement of the heater assembly.

Why is my Cadet CE163T Heater fan running but not blowing hot air?
    • A
      Angela PowersAug 17, 2025
If the fan on your Cadet Heater operates but doesn't discharge warm air, ensure that the mode button is set to HEAT mode, so the display shows the room temperature. If it is already in HEAT mode, the element may have failed, requiring replacement.

What to do if my Cadet CE163T does not run?
    • H
      hilljoannaAug 21, 2025
If your Cadet Heater does not run, make sure the thermostat is set to a high enough temperature. If the mode button is set to 'FAN ONLY' at '0', push it to 'HEAT' mode. Also, the heater might have tripped the manual reset temperature limit; in that case, press the manual reset button. Ensure that the power is on at the circuit breaker and that there are no broken or poorly connected wires to the heater. Lastly, a defective thermostat or incorrectly installed circuit breaker could be the cause; repair or replace the heater assembly or correct the circuit breaker installation, respectively.

Why does my Cadet CE163T keep tripping the reset button?
    • K
      Kimberly EdwardsAug 25, 2025
If your Cadet Heater continually trips the manual reset temperature limit control, it may be due to dust, lint, or other matter accumulated inside the heater; clean the heater following the instructions in the “MAINTAINING YOUR HEATER” section. Blocked airflow can also cause this; remove any obstructions, maintaining a minimum distance of ¾ inches (1.9 cm) from adjacent surfaces, 4½ inches (11.4 cm) from the floor, and 3 feet (0.9 m) from furniture. If the fan or motor is jammed, remove the obstruction and press the heater's manual reset button. If none of these resolves the issue, consider replacing the heater assembly.

Why does my Cadet CE163T Heater breaker trip immediately?
    • L
      Larry WeeksAug 28, 2025
If your Cadet Heater breaker trips immediately, it could be due to an overloaded circuit. The total amperage of all heaters on a branch circuit must not exceed 80% of the circuit breaker's amperage rating. Try using a lower wattage heater or reducing the number of heaters on the circuit. Also, a short circuit in the wiring could be the problem. Inspect all supply and heater wiring for damage, and repair any shorts before resetting the breaker. A defective circuit breaker or thermostat malfunction can also cause this issue; in these cases, replace the circuit breaker or heater assembly, respectively.

Why does my Cadet Heater smell burnt?
    • B
      Bryan WoodSep 1, 2025
If your Cadet Heater is discharging smoke or emitting a burnt odor, it could be due to accumulated dust, lint, or other matter inside the heater. Clean the heater following the instructions in the “MAINTAINING YOUR HEATER” section. Poor or loose electrical connections can also cause this. Turn off the power at the circuit breaker and inspect all supply and heater wires for loose or poor connections. Secure or reconnect any loose connections, and do not reset the circuit breaker until all connections have been checked or repaired.

How to improve the heating if Cadet Heater is not heating enough?
    • Z
      zperrySep 5, 2025
If your Cadet Heater is working but the room isn't reaching the desired temperature, it could be because heat loss from the room is greater than the heater's capacity. Close doors and windows, provide additional insulation, or consider installing a higher wattage heater or multiple heaters if your circuit breaker has sufficient capacity. Also, furniture or other surfaces might be too close to the heater, restricting airflow. Remove any obstructions to ensure air can flow freely, maintaining a minimum distance of ¾ inches (1.9 cm) from adjacent surfaces, 4½ inches (11.4 cm) from the floor, and 3 feet (0.9 m) from furniture.

Why does my Cadet Heater heat for a moment then stop?
    • R
      rachel49Sep 8, 2025
If your Cadet Heater element heats for a moment without the fan turning and then immediately stops heating, it could be due to a defective motor or internal connection, which requires heater or fan motor replacement. Alternatively, the fan might be jammed. Remove any obstruction and ensure the fan spins freely. Then, press the manual reset temperature limit button as described in the “OPERATING INSTRUCTIONS” section.
