What to do if Cadet Heater will not shut off?
    • H
      hollowayjamieAug 7, 2025
If your Cadet Heater won't shut off, it could be due to: * **Heat loss:** If heat loss from the room is greater than the heater's capacity, close doors and windows, add insulation, or install a higher wattage heater (if your circuit can handle it). * **Defective thermostat:** Adjust the thermostat to its lowest setting and wait two minutes. If the heater continues to run and the room temperature is above 50°F, replace the thermostat. * **Incorrect wiring:** The thermostat might be wired incorrectly. Refer to the thermostat documentation and correct the wiring.

Why Cadet CS101 fan operates, but doesn't discharge warm air?
    • C
      conleytonyaAug 11, 2025
If your Cadet Heater's fan is running but not producing warm air, consider the following: * **Insufficient element temperature:** Allow a few moments for the element to reach its operating temperature. * **Incorrect supply voltage:** Verify that the supply voltage matches the heater's rating. * **Failed element:** The heating element may need to be replaced. * **(Model CST only) Over temperature controls:** Reset the heater unit. CST models have two heating units with independent over-temperature controls. One of the high-temperature manual power reset controls may trip and cut power to one of the heating units, while the other remains running, resulting in only half output.

What to do if Cadet CS101 Heater element heats for a moment then stops?
    • M
      Michael ThompsonAug 21, 2025
If your Cadet Heater element heats briefly and then stops, it could be due to: * **Defective motor or internal connection:** The heater or fan motor may require replacement. * **Fan or motor jammed:** Remove any obstruction and follow the instructions in the “Operation & Maintenance” section for “Resetting the Manual Power Reset Limit Control.” If the heater still doesn't run, it may require repair or replacement.

Why does my Cadet Heater breaker trip immediately?
    • N
      nalexanderAug 27, 2025
Your Cadet Heater's breaker might be tripping immediately due to several reasons: * **Incorrect supply voltage:** Ensure the supply voltage matches the heater's rating. * **Overloaded circuit:** The total amperage of all heaters on the circuit shouldn't exceed 80% of the breaker's rating. Consider using a lower wattage heater or reducing the number of heaters on the circuit. * **Short circuit:** Inspect the supply and heater wiring for any damage to the insulation. Do not reset the breaker until all shorts are repaired. * **Defective circuit breaker:** The circuit breaker may need to be replaced.

    • S
      Stephanie FlemingSep 1, 2025

Why Cadet Heater does not run?
    • T
      Thomas LeeNov 16, 2025
Your Cadet Heater might not be running for these reasons: * **Thermostat setting:** Adjust the thermostat to a higher temperature. * **Tripped power reset:** Follow the instructions in the “Operation & Maintenance” section for “Resetting the Manual Power Reset Limit Control.” If the room temperature is below 45°F, see the “Reset Heater at the Circuit Breaker” instructions. * **Tripped secondary fuse:** A severe over-temperature condition has occurred. The heater may need repair or replacement. * **No power:** Turn on the correct circuit breaker in the main panel. * **Wiring issues:** Turn off the power at the circuit breaker and check the supply wire continuity and connection to the heater wires. * **Defective thermostat:** The heater or its components may be checked for conti...
