48 Locks and car alarm
Locking/unlocking the car
Remote locking and unlocking also control
the car alarm (if fitted).
Locked doors cannot be opened from inside
the car.
Remote locking
Press the button once – locks all
doors and the boot lid and activates TSL.
The hazard warning lights will flash once
to confirm.
In order for TSL to be activated, all doors
and the boot lid must be closed when the
car is locked. Otherwise, the car is locked
without the TSL function.
TSL locking 3
(Theft Security Lock)
TSL locking means that the doors can
only be unlocked with the remote control.
The front left door can be unlocked with
the traditional key. See page 49.
If you are seated in the car and TSL is
active, TSL will be deactivated if you insert
the remote control into the ignition switch.
The car will remain locked.
If you wish to lock the car without activating
TSL, hold a passenger door open and lock
the car with the remote control. Then close
the door.
Remote unlocking
Pressing the button once – unlocks all
doors, the fuel filler flap and the boot lid.
The hazard warning lights will flash twice
to confirm.
If remote unlocking should fail to work,
see page 49.
WARNING
None of the car doors can be opened from
the inside when the car is locked. The car
is TSL locked 3 (Theft Security Lock).
Never lock anyone in the car.
