58 Locks and car alarm
Overview of functions
Locking/arming Direction indicators flash once.
Unlocking/
disarming
Hazard warning lights flash twice.
Unlocking/
disarming

Hazard warning lights flash three times.
Alarm triggered Direction indicators flash for 5 min.
The siren sounds for 30-second intervals with
10-second breaks (max. 10 cycles) or until you
press one of the remote control buttons or turn
the remote control to position 3 in the ignition
switch.
Movement
sensor
The movement sensor trips the alarm if it
registers a movement in the cabin.
Tilt sensor The tilt sensor trips the alarm if the angle of the
car changes relative to its angle when it was
locked.
Remote control Normal range: 5–15 metres.
In favourable conditions the range can be
significantly greater.
During remote opening and closing of the
windows/sunroof 3/soft top, the range is
reduced by approximately half of normal range.
Remote control
battery
Normal life: approx. 4 years.
The battery should be changed when the
following message appears on the DIC:
Remote control battery
low. Replace battery.

Car battery The alarm will trip if the battery is disconnected
when the alarm is armed.
Some car alarm functions and indications can be reprogrammed.
