Overview

This document is a Convenience & Personalization Guide for the 2022 Cadillac CT5, providing an overview of its features and how to use them.

Remote Keyless Entry Transmitter (Key Fob)

The key fob allows for various remote operations:

  • Lock: Press to lock all doors and the fuel door. Hold for 3 seconds to close all windows. Automatic mirror-folding can be enabled via Settings > Vehicle > Comfort and Convenience.
  • Unlock: Press to unlock the driver's door and fuel door only, or all doors. Hold for 3 seconds to open all windows.
  • Remote Start: After locking the vehicle, press twice within range to start the engine. Press the ENGINE START/STOP button inside the vehicle to engage.
  • Vehicle Locator/Panic Alarm: Press and release to locate the vehicle (exterior lamps flash, horn chirps 3 times). Hold for 3 seconds to activate the alarm; press again to cancel.
  • Power Release Trunk: Press twice to open the trunk.
  • Door/Glovebox Key: A physical key can be pulled out from the side of the key fob (button A) for manual access.
  • Settings: Remote Keyless Entry settings can be changed via Settings > Vehicle > Remote Lock, Unlock, Start.

Keyless Access System

This system allows operation of doors and trunk without removing the key fob, provided it's within 3 feet of the door or trunk.

  • Keyless Unlocking:
    • Press the touch pad (A) on the inside of the driver's door handle to unlock the driver's door only or all doors, including the trunk and fuel door.
    • Press the touch pad on the inside of a passenger door handle to unlock all doors, including the trunk and fuel door (optional).
    • Press the touch pad above the license plate to open the trunk.
  • Keyless Locking: Press the Cadillac crest sensor (B) on the outside of either front door handle to lock all doors, the trunk, and the fuel door.
  • Passive Locking: To enable automatic locking after a short delay when the ignition is off, the key fob is removed, and all doors are closed, go to Settings > Vehicle > Remote Lock, Unlock, Start > Passive Door Lock.
  • Passive Unlock: To enable driver's door or all doors unlock when using the touch pad on the driver's door handle, go to Settings > Vehicle > Remote Lock, Unlock, Start > Passive Door Unlock.

Keyless Start

The key fob must be inside the vehicle to start the ignition.

  • Start: With the vehicle in Park or Neutral, press and hold the brake pedal, then press the ENGINE START/STOP button. A green indicator illuminates. If the key fob battery is weak, place it in the rearward cupholder of the center console.
  • Stop/Off: Shift to Park, then press the ENGINE START/STOP button.
  • Retained Accessory Power: Available for up to 10 minutes after engine off (or until driver's door opens) for radio, power outlets, OnStar, wireless phone charging, power windows, and sunroof.
  • Accessory Mode: With the engine off and brake pedal not depressed, press the ENGINE START/STOP button. An amber indicator illuminates.

Auto Engine Stop/Start

This fuel-saving system automatically turns off the engine (Auto Stop) when the vehicle is at a complete stop and the brake pedal is pressed, if operating conditions are met. The tachometer displays "AUTO STOP." The engine restarts when the brake pedal is released or the accelerator is pressed.

  • Engine may run or restart if: minimum vehicle speed not reached, engine/transmission not at required temperature, outside temperature not in range, shift lever not in Drive (D), battery charge low, climate control settings require engine, or Auto Stop reached maximum allowed time.
  • Disable: Press the "A Auto Stop" button near the front of the center console. The button indicator turns off when disabled. System resets to on with each vehicle start.

Electronic Precision Shift

The automatic transmission shift pattern is displayed on top of the shift lever, with the selected gear illuminated in red. The lever returns to the center position after shifting.

  • Park: Press button (A) on top of the lever. To shift out of Park, press and hold the shift lock button (B) on the side of the lever while selecting the desired gear.
  • Reverse: Press and hold shift lock button (B) and move the lever forward completely (past the detent).
  • Neutral: Move the lever forward (to the detent). The transmission will not stay in Neutral for an extended period and will automatically shift into Park.
  • Drive: Move the lever rearward.
  • Tap Shift Mode: In Drive, pull back on the shift lever to shift manually. Use left paddle for downshift, right for upshift. Pull lever again to return to Drive. Temporary Tap Shift Mode can be engaged by pulling either paddle without moving the shift lever; it returns to automatic shifting after 7-10 seconds.

Driver Mode Selector

Adjusts steering, braking, engine sound, and other tuning in real time. Press the MODE button on the center console to display the menu on the instrument cluster.

  • My Mode: Customize engine sound, steering, and braking feel (Settings > Vehicle > My Mode).
  • Tour: For normal driving, balanced comfort and handling.
  • Sport: For performance-oriented response, enables Performance Shift Features.
  • Snow/Ice: For slippery conditions, helps control wheel speed.
  • Features vary by vehicle.

Steering Wheel Controls

  • A. Cruise Control/Adaptive Cruise Control:
    • On/Off:
    • SET- (Set Speed): Rotate thumbwheel down.
    • RES+ (Resume Speed): Rotate thumbwheel up.
    • Adjust Speed: Rotate thumbwheel up/down for 1-mph increments; past detent for 5-mph intervals.
    • Cancel: Press to cancel without erasing set speed.
    • Switch Cruise Control Type: Press and hold to switch between regular and Adaptive Cruise Control.
    • Follow Distance Gap (Adaptive Cruise Control): Press to select Far, Medium, or Near gap setting.
  • B. Voice Recognition:
    • Push to Talk: Press and release to answer calls or use voice recognition (OnStar, Bluetooth, infotainment). Hold for 3 seconds for Bluetooth Voice Recognition (Siri or Google Assistant).
    • End Call/Mute: Press to end/decline calls or mute/unmute audio.
  • C. Heated Steering Wheel: On/Off.
  • D. Audio Controls:
    • Volume (+/-): Press to adjust.
    • Next/Previous (</>): Press to select next/previous stored favorite radio station or track.
  • E. Driver Information Center Controls:
    • Left/Right (</>): Move between display zones. Press < to exit a menu.
    • Up/Down (Thumbwheel): Rotate to move through menus.
    • Select (Thumbwheel Press): Open menu, select/reset item, clear message.

Driver Information Center (DIC)

Displays vehicle information on the instrument cluster.

  • DIC Menus: Use steering wheel controls.
    • Info: Trip, fuel range, other info pages.
    • Audio: Browse music, change source.
    • Navigation: View route, change prompts.
    • Phone: View active call, scroll contacts.
    • Options: Change display information.
  • Select Info Pages:
    1. Open Options menu.
    2. Scroll to Info Page Options, press thumbwheel.
    3. Scroll through list.
    4. Press thumbwheel to select/deselect items for Info menu.

Multi-Color Head-Up Display (HUD)

Projects operating information onto the windshield. Controls are on the left side of the instrument panel.

  • HUD Position: Lift up or press down to adjust image position (not side-to-side).
  • INFO: Press to change display view: Speed, Audio/Phone, Navigation, Performance.
  • Brightness: Lift up to brighten, press down to dim. Hold down to turn off.
  • Rotation Option: Adjust angle via DIC controls: Options > Head-Up Display > Adjust Rotation. Rotate DIC thumbwheel up/down, select OK to save.

Cadillac User Experience Features

Infotainment system with entertainment, communication, and vehicle options. Touch icons or use rotary controller/buttons. Supports tap, drag, pinch, spread gestures. Connect smartphones/iPods via Bluetooth or USB.

  • Applications: Touch screen icon to access apps.
  • Additional Pages: Swipe to display overview or additional app pages.
  • Seek (<< / >>): Press to seek previous/next radio station or track.
  • Power/Volume: Rotate to adjust volume. Press to mute audio. Press and hold to turn system on/off.
  • Audio Menu:

  • Applications Tray: Shortcuts to commonly used apps.
  • Home Page:
  • Controller: Rotate to move on screen. Press to select item.

    2. Touch and hold icon to enter edit mode.
    3. Drag icon to Applications Tray or desired position.
    4. Select Done.
  • Storing Station Favorites: Store radio stations (AM, FM, SiriusXM) in any order.
    1. Display desired station.
    2. Touch and hold favorite screen button, or touch star icon in list.
  • Portable Audio Devices: USB ports (A) for data/charging in center console.
    • Connect iPod, iPhone, MP3 player, USB flash drive.
    • Touch Audio > More to select USB device. Search music on-screen or by voice.
    • Pocket (B) in front of center console for storage.
    • Charge-only USB port in rear of center console for rear-seat passengers.
  • SiriusXM with 360L: Over 200 channels (ad-free music, sports, comedy, talk, news), On Demand shows, performances, interviews. Requires SiriusXM subscription and Cadillac Connected Access plan.
  • Apple CarPlay and Android Auto: Available via compatible phone using respective icons on Home page.
    1. Download Android Auto app (no app needed for Apple CarPlay).
    2. Wireless Connection: Pair phone via Bluetooth, turn on wireless CarPlay/Android Auto in phone settings.
    3. Wired Connection: Connect phone to USB data port with USB cable.
    4. Follow infotainment screen/phone instructions.
    5. Icon illuminates when connected. Touch to display apps.
    6. Exit by pressing Home button. Return by pressing and holding Home button.

In-Vehicle Apps

Entertainment, news, weather, travel info, Amazon Alexa Built-In. Requires internet connectivity and data plan (4G LTE Wi-Fi Hotspot or mobile hotspot).

Voice Recognition

Control music, navigation, phone calls hands-free, other tasks.

  1. Press and release "Push to Talk" button on steering wheel.
  2. System plays prompt.
  3. After prompt, say command (e.g., "Call Dave," "Tune to 99.5 FM").
  4. Say "Help" for assistance.
  • Bluetooth Voice Recognition: Access voice commands on paired phone (Siri, Google Assistant). Press and hold "Push to Talk" button for a few seconds.

Bluetooth System

Pair Bluetooth-enabled devices. Pairing disabled when vehicle is moving.

  • Pair a Phone:
    1. Press "Push to Talk" button, say "Pair Phone," or select Phone icon > Connect Phone > Add Phone.
    2. Start pairing on phone, select vehicle name on infotainment screen.
    3. Follow instructions.
    4. Phone screen displays when pairing complete.
  • Secondary Phone: A second phone can be paired. System connects to phone set to "First to Connect." Secondary phone only receives calls. Set first/secondary phones via Phone icon > Phones > Information icon.
  • Streaming Audio: With Bluetooth device connected, touch Audio icon > More to select Bluetooth as source.

Valet Mode

Provides authorized users access to personalized features.

  • Lock/unlock infotainment screen: Settings > Vehicle > Valet Mode, enter passcode.

Wireless Phone Charging

Located at front of center console.

  1. Vehicle On or Retained Accessory Power active.
  2. Remove all objects from charging pad.
  3. Place phone, screen up, on pad.
  4. Green battery charging symbol displays on infotainment screen. If not charging, remove phone for 3 seconds, rotate 180 degrees, and replace.

4G LTE Wi-Fi Hotspot

Built-in hotspot connects up to 7 devices to high-speed internet. Some services require data plan.

  • Retrieve name/password: Wi-Fi Hotspot icon on infotainment screen or Settings > System > Wi-Fi Hotspot.

Vehicle Customization

Customize features like Remote Start, Auto Heated/Ventilated Seats, Safety Alert Seat, Mirror-Folding, Wiper function.

  1. Touch Settings on Home page.
  2. Select System, Apps, or Vehicle menu.
  3. Select desired feature/setting.
  4. Touch < Back to exit menu.

Teen Driver

Allows multiple keys for beginning drivers. Activates safety systems, sets feature limits, records driving data (Report Card).

  • Create PIN, register key, change settings, access Report Card: Settings > Vehicle > Teen Driver.

UltraView Sunroof

  • Open/Close Sunshade: Press Sunshade switch to express-open. Pull switch to express-close. Press/pull again to stop.
  • Open/Close Sunroof:
    • Press TILT switch to vent. Pull switch to close.
    • Press SLIDE switch to express-open front sunroof. Pull switch to express-close. Press/pull again to stop.

Climate Controls

Adjust settings via buttons or Climate on Home page.

  • ON/OFF:
  • AUTO Automatic Operation: System controls fan speed, air delivery, A/C, recirculation to reach set temperature. Manual adjustment disables auto for that function.
  • Defog Mode:
  • Vent Mode:
  • Floor Mode:
  • Driver's Temp. Control:
  • Fan Speed Control:
  • Passenger's Temp. Control:
  • A/C Air Conditioning On/Off:
  • Recirculation Mode:
  • SYNC Synchronize: Synchronize passenger's settings to driver's settings.
  • MAX Defrost:
  • Rear Window Defog:
  • Cabin Air Cleaning Ionizer: Removes contaminants. Turns on automatically with climate control. Status shown on display. On/off: Settings > Vehicle > Climate and Air Quality > Ionizer.

Exterior Lighting

Rotate control band.

  • Off/On:
  • AUTO Automatic Light Control: Activates Daytime Running Lamps (DRLs) or headlamps/exterior lamps based on light conditions.
  • Parking Lamps:
  • Headlamps:
  • IntelliBeam System: Press button on end of lever (in AUTO or Headlamps position) to turn automatic high-beam system on/off. Green indicator (≡Ⓐ) on cluster when on; blue indicator (≡O) when high-beams are on. Activates over 25 mph.

Windshield Wipers

Move lever up/down.

  • HI Fast Wipes:
  • LO Slow Wipes:
  • INT Intermittent Wipes/AUTO Rainsense™ Sensitivity: Rotate band up for more frequent, down for less frequent. On/off: Settings > Vehicle > Comfort and Convenience > Rainsense Wipers. Turn off in automatic car wash.
  • OFF:
  • 1x Single Wipe:
  • Washer Fluid: Pull lever to spray fluid.

Front Seat Features

  • Power Seat Adjustments:
    • A. Thigh Support: Pull up/slide lever.
    • B. Seat Position: Move horizontal control for forward/rearward, tilt, raise/lower.
    • C. Seatback Recline: Move vertical control.
    • D. Lumbar Support: Press round control or turn feature select knob to adjust amount/position.
  • Front Seat Lumbar Massage: With ignition On, turn feature select knob to view/select massage settings on infotainment screen. Press massage recall button (E) for most recent setting.
  • Automatic Heated/Ventilated Front Seats: Automatically activate based on interior temperature. On/off: Settings > Vehicle > Climate and Air Quality > Auto Heated Seats/Auto Cooled Seats.
  • Set Seat Memory Positions: With ignition On or Accessory mode:
    1. Adjust driver's seat, power steering column, power outside mirrors.
    2. Press/release SET button on driver's door (beep).
    3. Immediately press/hold button 1 or 2 until two beeps (matches DIC welcome message).
    • Store exit positions (for clearance): Repeat steps using ✔ Exit button.
  • Recall Seat Memory Positions: Press/hold button 1, 2 or ✔ Exit until position reached.
  • Automatic Recall: Set memory/exit positions to recall automatically when ignition turned on/off (for exit recall, driver's door must be opened): Settings > Vehicle > Seating Position > Seat Entry Memory/Seat Exit Memory.

Driver Assistance Systems

  • Safety Alert Seat: Seat pulses (left, right, or both) to alert of hazards. Audible alerts can be selected instead. Change settings: Settings > Vehicle > Collision/Detection Systems > Alert Type.
  • Lane Change Alert with Side Blind Zone Alert: Displays warning symbol on side mirror when moving vehicle detected rapidly approaching or in blind zone. Symbol flashes if turn signal activated and vehicle detected on same side. On/off: Settings > Vehicle > Collision/Detection Systems > Lane Change Alert.
  • Forward Collision Alert: Vehicle Ahead Indicator on cluster is green when vehicle detected ahead, amber when too close. Red alert flashes on windshield, Safety Alert Seat pulses/rapid beeps when approaching too rapidly.
    • Press Forward Collision Alert button on steering wheel to set alert timing (Far, Medium, Near). Also Adaptive Cruise Control Follow Distance Gap setting.
  • Following Distance Indicator: Displays following distance in seconds under Info menu on DIC. Dashes if no vehicle detected.
  • Lane Keep Assist with Lane Departure Warning: Helps avoid unintentional lane departures. Indicator is green if available. Assists by gently turning steering wheel, displays amber. Amber may flash, Safety Alert Seat pulses/beeps if active driver steering not detected and lane marking crossed. Does not continuously steer. Alerts do not occur with turn signal or intentional departure.
    • Press Lane Keep Assist button (A) on instrument panel center controls to turn on/off.
  • Front Pedestrian Braking: During daytime driving below 50 mph, detects pedestrians ahead. Amber indicator on cluster. Red alert flashes on windshield, Safety Alert Seat pulses/rapid beeps if approaching too quickly. Automatically provides hard emergency braking or enhances driver's braking. Limited nighttime/low-visibility performance.
    • Set to Alert and Brake, Alert, or Off: Settings > Vehicle > Collision/Detection Systems > Front Pedestrian Detection.
  • Automatic Emergency Braking: Below 50 mph, works with Forward Collision Alert to avoid/reduce severity of front-end collisions. Camera technology provides hard emergency braking or enhancement.
    • Set to Alert and Brake, Alert, or Off: Settings > Vehicle > Collision/Detection Systems > Forward Collision System.
  • Reverse Automatic Braking: Detects imminent collision situations with objects behind vehicle while in Reverse. Provides alerts and hard emergency braking at very low speeds.
    • Press P Park Assist button (B) on instrument panel center controls to turn on/off.
  • Front and Rear Park Assist: During low-speed parking, provides "distance to closest object" info on DIC. Safety Alert Seat pulses or beeps. 5 beeps if object very close.
    • Press P Park Assist (B) on instrument panel center controls to turn on/off.
  • Rear Pedestrian Alert: During daytime driving in Reverse, detects pedestrians behind vehicle. Amber indicator on infotainment screen. Flashes red, Safety Alert Seat pulses/rapid beeps if pedestrian close. Limited nighttime/low-visibility performance.
    • Set to Alert or Off: Settings > Vehicle > Collision/Detection Systems > Rear Pedestrian Detection.
  • Rear Cross Traffic Alert: In Reverse, warns of detected cross-traffic. Red alert on infotainment screen, Safety Alert Seat pulses/beeps.
    • On/off: Settings > Vehicle > Collision/Detection Systems > Rear Cross Traffic Alert.
  • HD Rear Vision Camera: In Reverse below 8 mph, displays view behind vehicle on infotainment screen.
  • HD Surround Vision: Uses multiple cameras to display high-resolution image of area around vehicle, plus front/rear camera views. Operates in Reverse or Drive below 8 mph.
    • Activate by selecting Camera icon on Home page or pressing 360° Surround Vision button (C) on instrument panel center controls.
  • Automatic Parking Assist with Braking: Steers vehicle at idle speed, applies brakes to help park. Driver follows commands, controls gear selection.
    1. Below 18 mph, press P Park Assist button on instrument panel. Display shows on infotainment screen.
    2. Switch between parallel/perpendicular parking by touching Parking Type screen button. Search spot (right/left) by touching Parking Side screen button.
    3. Once spot found, shift into Reverse/Drive as directed, follow instructions. Vehicle steers/brakes at idle speed. Driver follows instructions, selects gears, overrides braking/acceleration. "Parking Complete" displays, beep sounds.
  • Automatic Vehicle Hold: Holds vehicle stationary after brake pedal released until accelerator pressed. Indicator illuminates green on cluster.
    • On/off: Press AUTO HOLD button on center console.

Traction Control

Limits wheelspin in difficult driving conditions. Turns on automatically at start. Turn off if vehicle is stuck and rocking required.

  • Press Traction Control button at front of center console to turn on/off. Traction Control Off light illuminates on cluster when off.

Rear Camera Mirror

Uses camera in roof antenna for wider, less-obstructed field of view.

  • A. On/Off: Pull/push lever at bottom of mirror.
  • B. Selection Control: Press/release button to select brightness, zoom, or tilt.
  • C. Adjustment Controls: Press/release either button to adjust selected setting.

Power Folding Mirrors

  • Press button on driver's door to power-fold. Press again to unfold. Automatically unfold above 12 mph.

Tire Pressure Monitoring System

  • (!) Low Tire Pressure warning light on cluster for underinflated tires. Fill to proper pressure (listed on Tire and Loading Information label). Current pressures viewed on DIC.
  • Tire Fill Alert: With ignition On or Accessory mode, provides visual/audible alerts when inflating. Horn sounds, turn signal changes from flashing to solid when recommended pressure reached.

Electric Park Brake

  • Apply: Press P Park Brake switch on left side of instrument panel.
  • Release: Turn on ignition, press brake pedal, then press P switch.

Automated Car Wash Mode

Specific procedures for placing transmission in Neutral with engine on/off, and when driver exits. Refer to Owner's Manual.

Power Release Trunk

  • Hands-Free Operation: Kick foot straight in/out under center of rear bumper (indicated by Cadillac logo projected on ground). Key fob must be within 3 feet.
  • Settings: Change power release trunk settings: Settings > Vehicle > Comfort and Convenience > Hands-Free Trunk Control.
