PRODUCT IDENTIFICATION
The PFG05 and PFG57 series instruments are rotary level indicators for granular solids. The identification of the device is
accomplished by the specific label outside the casing, whose characteristics are shown below:
Tampering with the label entails the loss of validity of the product certifications.

European community marking for equipment intended for use in areas
under risk of explosion.
Group II equipment intended for use in surface industry.
Category 1 equipment, suitable for use in areas classified Zone 20 inside the
silos (only the mechanical part below the connection to process); Category 2
Zone 21 outside the silos (all parts).
Combustible dusts; combustible substance present in the area of installation
and the internal volume.

Protection method Ex t - protection from the ignition of combustible dusts
from enclosure (internal ta / external tb).
For combustible dusts type IIIC (suitable for use with any kind of dust).
Temperature class (maximum surface temperature the device can reach):
T85°C = standard version
T200°C = high temperature versions (PFG-*.../AT)
IP65 (Ingress Protection) - 6 = dust tight, no ingress of dust; 5 = protection
against jets of water, limited ingress protection.

The device can be installed in any position. In case of an horizontal or titled
installation, mount the device with the cable entrance on the right side for PFG05
models, or lower side for PFG57 models. The coupling of the instrument with the wall
of the container (silos) can be either threaded or anged; images 2 and 3 show the
standard couplings. Always refer to the technical drawings supplied by the
Manufacturer together with this manual.
Protect the device from falling material or excessive weight, using protective
deectors. For cable entries, 1 (one) or 2 (two) G 1/2 threaded holes (BSPP) are
available. Seal the cable entries with cable glands or sealing caps suitable for the
operating range shown on the label. The protective caps supplied with the device are
only for protection during transport and storage, they are not suitable for the use of
the instrument and it is responsibility of the installer to replace them.

The CAMLogic PFG05 and PFG57 series are rotary level indicators designed for granular solids. These devices are identified by a specific label on the casing, which provides key information about the product.

Function Description

The primary function of these devices is to detect the level of granular solids within a container or silo. They operate on a rotary principle, where a rotating paddle or shaft interacts with the material to determine its presence or absence.

Usage Features

Installation:

• Mounting: Can be installed in any position. For horizontal or tilted installations, the cable entrance should be on the right side for PFG05 models or the lower side for PFG57 models.
• Coupling: Can be threaded or flanged, with standard couplings shown in images 2 and 3. Technical drawings from the manufacturer should be consulted.
• Protection: The device should be protected from falling material or excessive weight using protective deflectors.
• Cable Entries: Available with one or two G 1/2 threaded holes (BSPP). Cable entries must be sealed with suitable cable glands or sealing caps for the operating range. The protective caps supplied are for transport/storage only and must be replaced by the installer.
• Earthing: Essential for safety. An M5x8 screw and a notched stainless-steel washer are used for earthing. Two terminals are provided: one inside the casing and one outside near the cable entry. The protective earth conductor (PE) cross-sectional area must be the same as the phase conductor (S), with a maximum of 16mm². Both earthing terminals must be connected to the equipotential line.
• Power Supply Verification: Before service, ensure the power supply voltage matches the plate's indication.
• Overload Protection: Power and signal cables must be protected with an overload protection element (rated current ≤ 10A).
• Disconnect Switch: A disconnect switch must be present near the device to cut off power supply in case of a fault.
• Cables: Use cables suitable for temperatures up to 90°C.
• Wiring Diagram: Located inside the lid.

Specific Conditions for ATEX / IECEx Models:

• User Responsibility: The user is responsible for maintaining equipment in explosive atmospheres to reduce explosion risk, in compliance with IEC 60079-14 / BS EN 60079-14.
• Installation Zones: All parts can be installed in Zone 21; only the mechanical part (paddle, shaft, support) below the process connection can be in Zone 20.
• Sealing: Cable entries must be sealed with certified cable glands or sealing caps compliant with Directive 2014/34/EU / S.I. 2016 No. 1107 for tb protection, ensuring a minimum IP65.
• Protective Caps: Plastic caps supplied are not suitable for explosive atmospheres and must be replaced by the installer.
• Cover: The device is not explosion-proof when the casing is open. Ensure correct orientation and tightening of cover screws, cable glands, and sealing caps.
• Electrostatic Charges: Avoid electrostatic charges on plastic parts (do not rub dry).
• PFG/L Versions (with lamp):* Protect plastic parts from direct solar radiation.
• PFG.../AT Versions (high temperature):* Use cables suitable for temperatures ≥ 100°C.
• PFG57 Versions:* Equipment must be installed to minimize mechanical danger (aluminum case protected against impact).
• Surface Temperature: Maximum surface temperature is calculated with a safety margin, without considering dust deposits. During installation and maintenance, avoid electrostatic charging (e.g., by protection from direct air flow, cleaning with wet clothes, earthing connection).

Maintenance Features

• Compliance: Maintenance must comply with IEC 60079-17 / BS EN 60079-17 standards.
• Routine Maintenance: CAMLogic level indicators do not require routine maintenance.
• Recommended Checks: Visually check sealing gaskets at each opening of the cover or removal of the instrument.
• Gasket Replacement: If damage or excessive tearing of gaskets is observed, contact CAMLogic for suitable replacements.
• Tightening: Ensure cover screws, cable glands, and sealing caps are fully tightened.
• Connections: Verify power and grounding terminals are correctly connected and in good condition.

Repair and Warranty

• Repair: PFG05* and PFG57* series level sensors can only be repaired by the manufacturer CAMLogic. In case of malfunctions or doubts, contact CAMLogic S.a.s. di Giovanni Guazzetti & C. Repairs must comply with IEC 60079-19 / BS EN IEC 60079-19 standards.
• Warranty: CAMLogic guarantees its products for 24 months from the shipment date. The warranty covers repair or free replacement of defective parts after examination by the manufacturer.
• Warranty Exclusions:
  • Direct or indirect damage.
  • Dismantled, tampered with, or repaired parts by unauthorized personnel.
  • Damage from negligence, carelessness, improper use, bad handling, or faulty installation.
  • Use of non-genuine spare parts.
• Shipping: Returned level indicators, even under warranty, must be shipped carriage free.
