Maintenance Features
- Cleaning: The oven cavity should be cleaned with a slightly damp cloth after use. Accessories should be washed in soapy water. The door frame, seal, and surrounding parts require careful cleaning with a damp cloth. Harsh abrasive cleaners or sharp metal scrapers should not be used on the oven door glass. A cleaning tip suggests heating half a lemon in water for 10 minutes at 100% microwave power to loosen food residue, then wiping with a soft, dry cloth.
- Regular Cleaning: The oven should be cleaned regularly, and food deposits removed to prevent degradation of the surface, which could affect the appliance's lifespan and lead to hazardous situations.
- No Steam Cleaner: The appliance should not be cleaned with a steam cleaner.
- Lamp Replacement: The appliance must be switched off before replacing the lamp to avoid electric shock.
- General Cleanliness: Maintaining the appliance in a good state of cleanliness is crucial for its lifespan and safety.
- Utensil Compatibility: The manual provides a detailed list of materials safe for microwave use (e.g., browning dish, dinnerware, glass jars, glassware, oven cooking bags, paper plates/cups, paper towels, parchment paper, plastic, plastic wrap, thermometers, wax paper) and materials to be avoided (e.g., aluminum tray, food carton with metal handle, metal or metal-trimmed utensils, metal twist ties, paper bags, plastic foam, wood) to prevent arcing, fire, or contamination. A utensil test procedure is also provided to check if a non-metallic utensil is safe for microwaving.
- Troubleshooting: The manual includes a troubleshooting section to address common issues such as microwave interference with TV reception, dim oven light, steam accumulation, accidental operation without food, and the oven not starting or heating. It provides possible causes and remedies, including checking power cords, fuses, circuit breakers, and ensuring the door is closed properly.
- WEEE Compliance: The product is designed for separate collection and treatment according to the Waste of Electrical and Electronic Equipment (WEEE) directive, emphasizing that it should not be disposed of with household waste but sent to designated WEEE collecting points.
