Why is the subject in my Canon Digital Camera image too bright?

If the subject in your recorded image appears too bright, here are some possible reasons and solutions: * If the subject is too close during flash photography, adjust the flash output using the flash exposure compensation function. * If the subject is brighter compared to the background, set the exposure compensation to a negative (-) setting or use the AE lock or spot metering function. * If light is shining directly on the subject or reflecting off the subject into the camera, try changing the shooting angle. * If the flash is set to On, set it to Auto or Off.
