1.1 How to connect and configure the modem
Prerequisites:
1. Administrator credentials to access system administration
2. Modem kit part number BMHST4GA00
3. Boss or boss-mini with software version >= 1.9.0
4. SIM unlocked (PIN request disabled, if enabled SMS messages cannot be sent)
5. Information for SIM data connection (given by the service provider)
• User
• Password
• APN
• PIN
VERY IMPORTANT: if the boss or boss-mini is rebooted without a modem connected, the modem settings
will be lost and the installation procedure will need to be repeated.
Procedure
1. To install the SIM card and set up data network operation, see the manual (MTCM2 Quick Start).
2. Use the USB extension cable to connect the modem to the boss/boss-mini.
3. Switch the boss/boss-mini on:
• When the device has started, check the LEDs with reference to the manual (MTCM2 Quick Start).
Normal operation is shown in the picture.
