2.2 Remarks
VERY IMPORTANT: if the boss or boss-mini is rebooted without a modem connected, the modem settings
will be lost and the installation procedure will need to be repeated. This is described in the paragraph:
INSTALLING THE MODEM
If the PC that is browsing the boss pages is in a dierent subnet from the boss unit, when the modem is
connected, the default gateway is replaced and therefore the pages cannot be browsed: a new route will
need to be added in boss before connecting and conguring the modem.
2.3 What happens when the modem is disconnected?
As a general rule, every operation performed on the modem requires the boss/boss-mini to be rebooted
before taking eect.
Connect or disconnect the modem depending on the desired conguration, then reboot the unit to make
the changes and hardware detection eective and complete.
