Remove the lag screws holding hood assembly to ship-
ping skid. Apply the 36-in. long seal strips to the side flanges
of the hood assembly. Apply the 33-in. long seal strips to the
top and bottom flanges of the hood assembly. (On 024 units,
which have narrower hoods than 028 and 030 units, trim the
excess seal strip as needed.) Make seal strips flush with the
outer edges of the flanges. Use a punch to punch out the
holes for the screws.
Hood assembly is heavy. At least 2 men should handle.
Line up the top flange of the hood assembly with the 6
holes in the damper assembly (approximately 6

in. from
top).
Using the 6 screws from the fastener package, secure the
top flange of the hood assembly to the dampers. Install the
2 middle screws to attach the dampers to the base rail. (The
holes in the bottom flange of the hood assembly should line
up with these holes.)
Before installing channel clip, seal strip must be applied.

in. length from the 4-ft seal strip provided in the
accessory package and place on channel clip. Begin one inch
from top of flange of channel clip and center seal strip on the
flange, covering holes. This one inch dimension is critical:
If seal strip is too high or too low, water leakage may result.
Use a punch to punch out holes for screws. See Fig. 2 for
channel clip detail. Install the channel clip between the baro-
metric relief hood and the economizer in place of the right
channel panel removed earlier. The 3 holes in the right side
flange of the hood assembly should line up with the corre-
sponding holes in the fan deck and channel clip.
On 50LJ units, install the channel panel from the acces-
sory package in place of the left channel panel. See Fig. 2
for accessory package channel panel detail. Install latch bracket
removed from left channel panel on accessory package chan-
nel panel. Replace drip lip and compressor access panel.
On all other units, install the right channel panel removed
earlier on the left side of the barometric relief hood in place
of the left channel panel. (On 50DJ,NK units, replace the
latch bracket and compressor access door.) The 3 holes in
the left side flange of the hood assembly should line up with
the corresponding holes in the fan deck and channel panel.
Horizontal Units (50DW,DY,LW,NY) — Remove
hoods from panels supplied with accessory and install hood
and damper assemblies on return ductwork. See Fig. 2
and 3 for hood dimensions.
