What to do if my Carrier Heat Pump does not operate in cooling?

If your Carrier Heat Pump is not operating in cooling mode, several factors could be the cause. First, check the reversing valve by setting it for cooling demand and verifying 24 V a.c. on the RV coil and at the control. If the RV is stuck, run high pressure up by reducing water flow and while operating, engage and disengage RV coil voltage to push the valve. Also, check for ‘O’ RV setup not ‘B’ and check O wiring at heat pump. You can jumper O and R for RV coil ‘Click’.
