LUBRICATING SYSTEM
3.1 CHECKING AND ADJUSTING 3.1.1 Engine Oil Pressure
1. Removetheengineoil pressure switch,and installan
oil pressure gauge.
2. Start the engine. After warming up, read the oil pres-
sure at idling and at rated speeds.
3. If the oil pressure is less than the allowable limit,
check the following:
Engine oil sufficient
Oil pump defective
Oil strainer clogged
Oil filter cartridge clogged
Oil gallery clogged
Excessive oil clearance
Relief valve stuck
