Theessentialprecautionslistedbelowmustbeobserved:

Donotuseanopenametochecktheelectrolytelevel.Keepsparks,amesandlightedtobaccoaway.

Donotproducesparkswithcableclampswhenchargingthebatteryorstartingtheenginewithaslavebattery.
•
Weareyeprotectionwhenworkingnearbatteries.
•
Weareyeprotectionandglovesifremovingthebatterycoverplugs.
•
Provideventilationwhenchargingorusinginanenclosedspace.
•
Ensuretheventplugsarecorrectlyinstalledandtight.
Iftheelectrolytecomesintocontactwiththeskin,eyesoristakeninternally,treatasfollows:
•
Skin:Flushwithcoldwater.
•
Eyes:Flushwithcoldwaterfor10minutesandgetpromptmedicalattention.
•
Internal:Calladoctorimmediately.
Fireandexplosionprevention
•
Duetotheammablenatureofthecropmaterialsencountered,rerisksarehigh.Thisriskcanbeminimizedby
frequentremovalofaccumulatedcropmaterialfromthemachineandcheckingforoverheatedmachinecompo-
nents.Ifoilleaksappear,re-torqueboltsorreplacegasketsasnecessary.
•
Removealltrashordebrisfromthemachineeachday.Especiallychecktheengineareaandexhaustsystem.
•
Sparksoramecancausethehydrogengasinabatterytoexplode.Topreventanexplosiondothefollowing:
•
Whendisconnectingthebatterycables,disconnectthenegative(▬)cablerst;whenconnectingthebattery
cables,connectthenegative(▬)cablelast.
•
Whenconnectingjumpercablestostarttheengine,usetheprocedureshowninthismanual(seeAuxiliaryBattery
connectionsinthismanual).
•
Donotshortcircuitthebatterypostswithmetalitems.
•
Donotweld,grindorsmokenearabattery.
•
Sparksfromtheelectricalsystemorengineexhaustcancauseanexplosionandre.Beforeyouoperatethis
machineinanareawithammabledustorvapors,usegoodventilationtoremovetheammabledustorvapors.
•
Usenonammablecleaningsolventtocleanparts.
•
Arecancausedeathorinjury.Alwayshavereextinguishernearoronthemachine.Makesurethereextin-
guishersareservicedaccordingtothemanufacturersinstructions.
•
Ifareextinguisherhasbeenused,alwaysrechargeorreplacethereextinguisherbeforeoperatingthemachine.
•
Keepthecoolingsystemcleanandmaintainthecorrectcoolantlevel.
•
MakesurethatyouDONOTstoreoilyragsorotherammablematerialsonthemachine.
•
Enginefuelcancauseanexplosionorre.Donotllthefueltankwiththeenginerunning;ifyouarenearanopen
re;orifyouarewelding,smoking,etc.
•
Ifthemachinehasanoil,fuelorhydraulicleak,alwaysrepairtheleakandcleantheareabeforeoperating.
•
Checktheelectricalsystemforlooseconnectionsorfrayedinsulation.Repairorreplacethelooseordamaged
parts.
•
Beforeweldingorusingatorchonthemachine,cleantheareatoberepaired.
