Ensuretheventplugsarecorrectlyinstalledandtight.
Iftheelectrolytecomesintocontactwiththeskin,eyesoristakeninternally,treatasfollows:

Skin:Flushwithcoldwater.
•
Eyes:Flushwithcoldwaterfor10minutesandgetpromptmedicalattention.
•
Internal:Calladoctorimmediately.

Duetotheammablenatureofthecropmaterialsencountered,rerisksarehigh.Thisriskcanbeminimizedby
frequentremovalofaccumulatedcropmaterialfromthemachineandcheckingforoverheatedmachinecompo-
nents.Ifoilleaksappear,re-torqueboltsorreplacegasketsasnecessary.

Removealltrashordebrisfromthemachineeachday.Especiallychecktheengineareaandexhaustsystem.

Sparksoramecancausethehydrogengasinabatterytoexplode.Topreventanexplosiondothefollowing:

Whendisconnectingthebatterycables,disconnectthenegative(▬)cablerst;whenconnectingthebattery
cables,connectthenegative(▬)cablelast.

Whenconnectingjumpercablestostarttheengine,usetheprocedureshowninthismanual(seeAuxiliaryBattery
connectionsinthismanual).
•
Donotshortcircuitthebatterypostswithmetalitems.
•
Donotweld,grindorsmokenearabattery.
•
Sparksfromtheelectricalsystemorengineexhaustcancauseanexplosionandre.Beforeyouoperatethis
machineinanareawithammabledustorvapors,usegoodventilationtoremovetheammabledustorvapors.
•
Usenonammablecleaningsolventtocleanparts.
•
Arecancausedeathorinjury.Alwayshavereextinguishernearoronthemachine.Makesurethereextin-
guishersareservicedaccordingtothemanufacturersinstructions.
•
Ifareextinguisherhasbeenused,alwaysrechargeorreplacethereextinguisherbeforeoperatingthemachine.

Keepthecoolingsystemcleanandmaintainthecorrectcoolantlevel.

MakesurethatyouDONOTstoreoilyragsorotherammablematerialsonthemachine.

Enginefuelcancauseanexplosionorre.Donotllthefueltankwiththeenginerunning;ifyouarenearanopen
re;orifyouarewelding,smoking,etc.

Ifthemachinehasanoil,fuelorhydraulicleak,alwaysrepairtheleakandcleantheareabeforeoperating.
•
Checktheelectricalsystemforlooseconnectionsorfrayedinsulation.Repairorreplacethelooseordamaged
parts.
•
Beforeweldingorusingatorchonthemachine,cleantheareatoberepaired.
