The CG7486E Wireless Gateway combines high-speed Internet access, networking, and computer security.
Take the following precautions before installing the CG7486E: postpone installation during thunderstorms, unplug power before disconnecting.
Place your router in a central location for best wireless coverage, avoid obstructions and reflective surfaces.
Connect the coaxial cable to the outlet and CG7486E, plug in the power cord, connect the Ethernet cable to the computer.
Check that you can connect to the Internet, retrieve an IP address using static or DHCP server.
Set up Wi-Fi using WPS button: Power on CG7486E and WPS-enabled devices, then press WPS button.
The CMGR allows you to change and view settings. Login requires username and password (default: admin/admin).
Configure basic features of Wi-Fi wireless network: enable/disable interface, hide network, set SSID, change security key.
Provides WPS function for easy and secure wireless network setup. Suggests pressing Add Client button for PBC.
Provides DHCP server to manage IP addresses to CPEs and supports Reserved IP Address.
Allows incoming requests on specific port numbers to reach web servers, FTP servers, mail servers.
Conditional port forwarding feature that sets up temporary rules to allow inbound traffic for specific applications.
Configure Firewall Protection level and display all allowed services.
Allows changing admin password for web browser login. Strongly suggest changing default password.
Allows users to ping diagnostics (LAN) and trace route (WAN) to help with IP connectivity problems.
