Overview

The Cecotec Cleanfry Luxury 4000, Cleanfry Luxury 4000 Black, and Cleanfry Luxury 4000 Dark are 4.2-litre digital fryers designed for household use. These appliances feature an elegant stainless steel design and come with 5 pre-set programmes, offering a convenient and efficient way to deep-fry various foods.

Function Description

The primary function of these devices is deep-frying food using oil or liquid fat. They are equipped with a digital interface that allows users to select from five pre-set programmes (P001-P005) for different types of food, such as frozen French fries, fresh potatoes, nuggets, chicken wings, and croquettes. Each programme has a default time and temperature setting, which can be manually adjusted to suit specific cooking needs.

The fryer operates in several modes:

  • Standby Mode: When in standby, the fryer emits a single beep, and the display shows "P001," with the Mode button light flashing.
  • Mode Selection: Users can press the Mode button to cycle through the five pre-set programmes.
  • Temperature Setting: The Temperature button allows users to adjust the frying temperature from 110 °C to 190 °C in 5 °C increments. The display shows the selected temperature, and the temperature button light illuminates.
  • Time Setting: The Time button enables users to set the frying duration from 1 minute to 99 minutes in 1-minute increments. The display shows the selected time, and the time button light illuminates.
  • Heating Mode: After selecting a mode and pressing the ON/OFF button, the device begins heating the oil. The display shows the current oil temperature for 5 seconds, and the buttons light up. During this process, the display will not flash, and the buttons remain on.
  • Waiting Mode: Once the oil reaches the pre-set temperature, the fryer beeps, and the panel displays the current temperature. If no selection is made for 1 minute, the fryer automatically switches to standby mode.
  • Frying Mode: After entering Waiting mode, pressing the ON/OFF button stops the beeping, and the set time appears on the display. The "ready" light turns on. During frying, the heating element automatically switches on and off to maintain the desired oil temperature. If the oil temperature drops significantly below the pre-set temperature, the heating element reactivates. Once the frying time elapses, the fryer emits ten beeps, stops heating, and returns to standby mode. Users can stop the heating process at any time by pressing the ON/OFF button, which will revert the display to the default code and setting mode.

The appliance is designed with safety features, including a safety cut-off that ensures the heating element only functions when correctly placed in the fryer. In case of overheating, a thermal protective device automatically switches off the fryer. This device can be reactivated by pushing a "Restart" button located on the back of the cord storage compartment after disconnecting the appliance from the mains and allowing it to cool down.

Usage Features

To use the fryer, first ensure it is placed on a flat, stable surface. The product's handles must be properly assembled and locked. The inner pot should be correctly installed before operation.

  1. Preparation: Remove the lid and accessories. Connect the switch box to the power supply. Fill the deep fryer with the desired amount of oil or liquid fat, ensuring it is between the minimum and maximum marks indicated inside the appliance. It is recommended not to mix different types of oil for best results.
  2. Setting: Choose the appropriate temperature for the food to be fried, consulting the temperature table provided in the manual. Use the handle to place the basket into the deep fryer, then add the food to be deep-fried. For best results, ensure food is dry before placing it in the basket.
  3. Frying: Wait for the fryer to beep, indicating that the selected temperature has been reached. Slowly lower the basket into the oil to prevent excessive bubbling. Once the frying time has elapsed, raise the basket.
  4. Safety Precautions:
    • Always use heat-resistant tools; avoid metal tools as they can become hot.
    • Do not touch the appliance surfaces during or immediately after operation, as they become hot. Allow at least 30 minutes for cooling before handling.
    • Never leave the appliance unattended while in use.
    • Do not move the fryer when it contains hot oil or liquids.
    • Remove excess surface moisture from foods before cooking to prevent foaming.
    • Ensure the appliance is not covered and does not touch flammable materials during operation.
    • Always pull the plug, not the power cord, to disconnect the appliance.
    • Never plug in the fryer before adding oil or fat, as this can damage the product.
    • This appliance is for household use only and should not be used for commercial or industrial purposes.
    • It is not intended for use by children or individuals with reduced physical, sensory, or mental capabilities without supervision.
    • Do not use outdoors, near gas or electric hobs, in heated ovens, or near open flames.
    • Do not let the cord hang over the edge of a working surface or touch hot surfaces.

Maintenance Features

Proper cleaning and maintenance are crucial for the longevity and safe operation of the fryer.

  1. Cooling: Always allow the device to cool down completely before handling, cleaning, or performing any maintenance.
  2. Unplugging: Always unplug the device from the power supply before cleaning.
  3. Oil Replacement:
    • Ensure the deep fryer and oil have completely cooled off before replacing the oil.
    • Replace the oil regularly, especially if it becomes dark or develops a different odour. A general guideline is to replace the oil after every 10 uses.
    • Replace all the oil at once; do not mix old and new oil.
    • Dispose of old oil according to municipal waste collector guidelines; do not discard it in the normal rubbish bin.
  4. General Cleaning:
    • If the deep fryer is not used regularly, store the cooled oil or liquid fat in a container, preferably in the fridge, after straining it.
    • Empty the fryer and clean the inner pot with a paper towel, then wipe with a wet cloth dipped in soapy water. Follow with a damp cloth and allow it to dry.
    • Never immerse the oil inner pot (which contains the power cord) in water, and do not clean these parts under running water.
    • Clean the outer part of the fryer regularly with a damp cloth and dry it with a soft, clean towel.
    • Do not use abrasive detergents.
    • The basket, filter, inner pot, and handle can be cleaned in warm soapy water or in the dishwasher. Dry them thoroughly before re-using.
    • Note that frequent dishwasher washing of the basket or oil pot may cause scratches or damage.
    • When replacing the oil, the inside of the deep fryer can also be cleaned by emptying it, wiping the inner pot with a paper towel, and then with a wet, soapy cloth, followed by drying with a damp cloth.
    • All components, except the electrical parts, can be cleaned in warm soapy water and thoroughly dried.
  5. Storage: Store the appliance in a dry, well-ventilated, and safe place, out of reach of children. If not used for a long time, store it in its original packaging to prevent soiling.
  6. Repairs: There are no user-serviceable parts in the fryer. Do not attempt to repair it yourself. Any repairs should be carried out by the official Technical Support Service of Cecotec to avoid danger.
