5. TROUBLESHOOTING
Error Possible causes Possible solutions
Water leaks from the
bottom or the water-tank
cover.
The water tank is not
properly assembled.
Insert the water tank correctly
into the water intake on the coee
machine base.

stored in a hot, wet place

Use fresh ground coee, or store it
in a cool, dry place. After opening a
package of ground coee, reseal it
tightly and store it in a refrigerator to
maintain its freshness.
The coee machine does
not work properly.
The power cord is not
properly plugged.
Plug the power cord into a wall
outlet correctly; if the appliance still
does not work, contact the Technical
Support Service.
The steaming function
does not froth milk.
The steam light indicator is
still blinking.
Steam can be used to froth only after
the steam light indicator has stopped
blinking.
The container is too big, or
the shape is not correct.
Use a higher and narrower container.
You have used skimmed
milk.
Use whole milk.
4. CLEANING AND MAINTENANCE
- Turn o, unplug the appliance, and let it cool down before cleaning it.
- Clean the housing of the appliance with a wet cloth. Empty the water tank and drip tray and
clean them together with the removable grille. Dry them thoroughly.
Note
Do not clean the appliance with alcohol or solvents. Do not immerse the main body of the
appliance in water.
- Clean the portalter and the stainless-steel lter under running water.
Cleaning mineral deposits
- Clean the mineral deposits every 2-3 months to ensure that the coee machine operates
properly, that the internal piping is clean, and that coee avour is good.
- Fill the tank with water and descaling liquid up to the “MAX” level (the proportion of water
and descaling liquid is 4:1). Citric acid can also be used (available in chemist’s or drug
stores), as well as descaling liquid (100 parts of water and 3 parts of citric acid).
- Insert the stainless-steel lter into the lter holder without ground coee in it and attach it
to the main body as indicated in previous sections. Place a jug under the lter holder. Make
sure the steam knob is in the o position.
- Press the preheating-function button and wait until the light indicator stops blinking.
Then, press the coee button and dispense about 500 ml (20 . oz.) of liquid. Press the
coee button again to stop and wait for 5 seconds.
- Press the steam button and wait until the light indicator stops blinking. Turn the steam
knob counterclockwise to release steam for 2 minutes. Then, turn the steam knob to the
o position and press the steam button again to stop. Allow the coee machine to cool
down for 15 minutes.
- Restart the coee machine and repeat steps 4 and 5 at least 3 times.
- Press the preheating-function button and wait until the light indicator stops blinking.
Then, press the coee button and dispense liquid until the tank is empty.
- Fill the tank with water up to the “MAX” mark and repeat steps 4 and 5 at least 3 times.
Then, continue with step 7.
