Assembly (continued)
Operation
1.
Warning!!
Before attempting to lift a load, make sure all four Extensions are extended until the
white line on each one is barely hidden. Tighten the Set Bolts (34) for each Exten-
sion securely, and make sure that it cannot slide in or out.
Adjust the Boom Extension (11) to a maximum weight position that exceeds the weight
you will be lifting. Securely tighten Bolt (33) and Nut (22). See FIGURE 6 on page 7.
2. Move the Crane so that the Hook & Chain (12) is directly above the item to be lifted.
Block the Swivel Casters to prevent inadvertent movement of the Shop Crane.
3. Using the Hook & Chain (12), securely fasten the item to the Crane. See FIGURE 6
on page 7.
4. To raise the Boom (9), turn the Jack’s (10) Release Valve (4a) fully clockwise and insert
the Handle (13) into the Jack (10), and pump the Handle (13) until the Jack (10) raises
to the desired height. See the Jack Assembly Drawing on page 8 and FIGURE 6 on
page 7.
5.
Warning!!
Never stand under an object being lifted by the Shop Crane. Be aware of the possibil-
ity of the load slipping off of the Hook and Chain (12) and causing serious injury.
To lower the Crane, first make sure no people or tools are under the load/equipment,
then SLOWLY turn the Jack’s Release Valve (4a) counterclockwise.
6. If desired, after the load is removed, the extensions may be shortened to allow the
unit to be stored in a smaller area. The shorter leg positions are for storage only; be
certain to properly extend and secure all extensions before every use.
13. Using one Bolt (27), two Washers (28), and one Nut (29), attach the Hook & Chain (12)
to the Boom (9) as shown in FIGURE 5 below.
