This document is a user's manual for an Automatic Ice Maker from Central Restaurant Products. The manual covers installation, operation, and maintenance for models 69K-085, 69K-086, 69K-124, and 69K-125.
Function Description:
The device is an automatic ice maker designed for commercial use, producing ice cubes. It operates fully automatically, with different LED display colors indicating various working modes. The fan motor adjusts its operation based on ambient temperature to maintain optimal cooling system performance. The ice cube size is adjustable, and the machine periodically drains water to ensure purer ice and minimize mineral buildup. It incorporates a sensitive probe and accurate timer for enhanced performance. It's important to note that these models are ice-making units only and do not include ice storage bins, which must be ordered separately.

Usage Features:
- Installation: Requires a separate ice storage bin. Installation should be done by qualified personnel, following state and local codes for electrical and water connections. The unit needs proper ventilation with at least 6" clearance at the rear and sides. It should be placed in a well-ventilated area with ambient temperatures between 50°F (10°C) and 100°F (38°C), and water temperatures between 41°F (5°C) and 90°F (32°C). A continuous water supply with a minimum pressure of 15 psig and a static pressure not exceeding 80 psig is required. The ice maker must be perfectly level for proper operation.
- Electrical Connection: Requires a grounded 3-prong outlet on a separate circuit. An extension cord is not recommended. A power supply cord (not included) needs to be connected to the unit's internal leads and grounding screw.
- Water Supply: Requires a 3/8" FPT water inlet fitting and a 1/2" FPT drain line connection. A shut-off valve must be installed on the main water supply.
- Operation: After turning on the water tap and power switch, the unit enters an ice-making stage after 3 minutes. It cycles between freeze and harvest stages, with a complete cycle lasting 15 to 40 minutes. Every 20 cycles, the water purge valve opens to remove impurities and sediment, ensuring clear ice cubes and minimal mineral buildup. When the ice storage bin is full, the machine enters a "Bin Full" stage and stops making ice until cubes are removed.
- Control Panel: Located on the left side, it includes a "Clean" button, "Mode" button, and four LED indicators: "Clean," "Bin Full," "Ice Making," "Ice Harvest," and "Power."
- Ice Size Adjustment: Press and hold "Clean" and "Mode" buttons together for at least 3 seconds to enter adjustment mode. "Clean" decreases ice size, "Mode" increases it. The "FULL" LED flashes for smaller sizes, and "HARVEST" LED flashes for larger sizes. The unit memorizes the setting after 10 seconds of inactivity.
- Stackability: This machine is stackable on any other machine in this manual, but a stacking kit is required.
Maintenance Features:
- Cleaning before Use: All packing materials and tape must be removed, and the interior and ice storage bin cleaned before first use.
- Exterior Cleaning: Clean with a soft cloth or sponge dampened with a mild detergent and warm water solution. Avoid solvent-based or abrasive cleaners.
- Interior Cleaning: Clean the water tank and ice storage bin regularly, especially after extended periods of disuse. Use a sanitizing solution (1 oz household bleach to 2 gallons hot water). Rinse thoroughly with clear water.
- Water Distribution Tube Cleaning: If ice cubes are incompletely formed or output is low, the tube may be blocked. It can be dredged with a toothpick or removed and cleaned with a brush and dilute detergent solution.
- Ice-Making System Cleaning: Regular cleaning is necessary to remove mineral scale buildup, especially with hard water (every 3 months for 15-20 grains/gal). This involves pouring Nickel-Safe Ice Maker Cleaner Solution into the water tank and initiating a 30-minute cleaning cycle via the "Clean" button. The process should be repeated three times for thorough rinsing, without adding cleaner during rinses. The first batch of ice after cleaning must be discarded.
- Condenser Cleaning: The air-cooled condenser should be vacuumed once or twice per year to remove lint from the fins. Caution is advised as fins are sharp and easily damaged.
- Long Storage Preparation: If the ice maker will not be used for a long time, drain water from the system by shutting off the water supply, disconnecting the pipe, and pressing the "Clean" button for over six seconds to initiate draining. Then shut off power, dry the water tank, remove all ice, and leave the door open for ventilation.
