TOILET INSTALLATION - MAINTENANCE
1 General
A. The inboard-facing, externally serviceable flush toilet is located on the right side of the aft passenger
compartment, between the aft divider and the aft bulkhead closet. The toilet is installed under a
removable seat assembly. It is self-contained and requires 28 VDC power.
B. Refer to vendor publication for troubleshooting, maintenance, repair, and adjustment/test instructions for the
toilet assembly and its components. A copy of the Vendor Toilet Manual is provided with this manual.
NOTE: An understanding of the operation and circuitry of the toilet assembly is necessary to perform
effective troubleshooting. The vendor component manual contains a toilet troubleshooting guide. Toilet
assembly troubleshooting is usually tracing a problem to defective, replaceable components, some of
which may be electrical. A thorough understanding of wiring diagrams and electrical schematics within
the vendor’s component maintenance manual will prove invaluable.
C. Prior to removal of the toilet assembly, service toilet externally and empty it of any waste and water-
chemical solution. For servicing instructions, refer to Chapter 12, Servicing, Externally Serviceable Flush Toilet,
in the 680 Production Maintenance Manual. A placard with servicing instructions is located inside service
panel door.
D. Prior to flight, the flush toilet holding tank is precharged with water-chemical solution. During use of the toilet,
water-chemical solution and waste is flushed into the toilet holding tank. During toilet ground servicing,
a ground service unit is connected to the aircraft waste drain valve at the service panel, the drain cable
control assembly T-handle is pulled and locked to open the toilet drain valve, toilet waste is disposed of through
the waste line, and fresh water-chemical solution is pumped into the toilet through the water fill line. This section
provides maintenance instructions for these functional airplane components of the toilet servicing system.
E. The toilet drain cable control assembly, water fill line, waste line, and service panel installations are each
highly reliable and should not require maintenance or repair for the life of the airplane. However, should a
component or installation become damaged, maintenance should consist of removal and replacement.
Refer to Chapter 38 in the Production 750 Maintenance Manual.
2 Toilet Removal/Installation
NOTE: Prior to toilet assembly installation and removal, service toilet and empty system of all fluids.
Refer to Chapters 12 and 38 in the Production 680 Maintenance Manual.
A. Remove Toilet Assembly.
CAUTION: Disconnect battery and remove power.
Verify appropriate circuit breaker is disengaged before performing maintenance on any
electrical components or wiring.
Secure and protect electrical wires to prevent fraying.
Ensure electrical wiring is not crushed/pinched during removal/installation.
(1) Disconnect battery and remove external power from aircraft.
(2) Turn off L BATT, R BATT and INTERIOR electrical switches, located in Electrical panel on pilot side of
instrument panel. Electrical panel is located just right of pilot’s yoke and left of center console on the lower
portion of instrument panel.
