(3) Pull Cable and Tank Dump Test.
(a) To drain water, toggle the push to open lever on the upper edge of the waste drain valve to open
inner waste drain flapper valve.
(b) Pull the yellow tee handle to open tank valve.
(c) Check handle pull force; it should be between 10 to 40 pounds (44 to 177 N).
(d) Turn handle clockwise and lock into open position. For toilet valve to be completely open, handle
will be extended out about 4.5 inches (114 mm).
(e) By looking down through toilet bowl into tank, inspect side of tank to confirm that all water has drained.
(f) When all water has drained, close drain by rotating handle counterclockwise and allow it to snap
closed. This will properly seat the toilet drain plug.
(g) Inspect the pull cable from the service panel to toilet assembly to ensure the cable is routed properly.
(4) Automatic Shutoff Valve and Fill Line Leak Test.
(a) Drain all contents from toilet tank.
(b) Disconnect ground service unit from airplane.
(c) Cycle the drain plug several times and allow drain plug to snap closed.
(d) Fill toilet tank to its full capacity 3.8 gallons (14 l).
(e) Open outer valve and inner flapper valve on drain.
(f) Let stand for 15 minutes, while inspecting for any water leakage. If no leakage occurs, connect
ground service unit and drain water from tank.
