4 Aft Vanity Water System Operation
The vanity water system consists of a water tank, pump, water faucet and supply lines. The water tank is
located in the bottom-center compartment of the vanity and is easily removed for filling. The vanity switch
panel controls the temperature of the heater for the water tank.
CAUTION: If the aircraft is stored overnight or longer in temperatures below freezing, the vanity water system
must be drained to prevent pump failure or damage.
A. Drain Aft Vanity Water System.
Note: Make certain switch for hot water container is “Off” before attempting to remove water tank
from vanity. Vanity switch panel is located aft of vanity on bulkhead closet.
(1) Disconnect water tank by pressing release button to disconnect water line and empty water from
tank. Lift up slightly on front of hot water tank and slide inboard to remove. Unscrew lid and dump
water from tank.
(2) Reconnect empty water tank to system.
(3) Press water button to cycle the pump. Repeat until no water comes out of faucet for three
cycles of the water button.
(4) Disconnect water tank and empty any remaining water in tank and reconnect tank, or remove tank
from aircraft.

5 Overboard Drain Operation
Note: For Overboard Maintenance Practices, refer to 38-30-02 WATER OVERBOARD DRAINS -
DESCRIPTION AND OPERATION in Maintenance Manual.
A. Potable and wash water waste is drained from aft vanity basin through a flexible hose to an overboard
drain weld assembly. The overboard drain weld assembly is installed through the bottom of aircraft
fairing and is electrically heated to prevent ice formation that could block or impair normal drainage.
For overboard drain locations, refer to Chapter 6 in the IPC, Aircraft Drains Locations - Description
and Operation. Waste water from aft vanity wash basin and/or potable water source is released through
a heated overboard drain by simply opening the basin drain. 28 VDC electrical power from aft interior
junction box electrical circuit is used to heat overboard drains.
(1) Check to make sure water flows freely down drain (water will exit bottom of aircraft).
