9. Remove the oil lter cover fasteners

and cover

from the
crankcase.
10. Remove the oil lter cartridge

from the crankcase housing.
11. Install a new oil lter cartridge in the crankcase housing.
12. Inspect and verify the cover O-ring

is okay to reuse, and
then install it into the groove of the crankcase housing correctly.
13. Install the oil lter cover and fasteners. Tighten the fasteners to
7.3 ft-lb. (10 N•m).
14. Add the specified amount of recommended engine oil, and
then reinstall the engine oil dipstick and hand-tighten it.
NOTE:
Oil change with oil filter: 3.06 qt. (2.9 L) Maintain the oil level
between the upper and lower indicators.
The 800 engine contains a wet clutch assembly, which requires
the use of JASO-certied engine oil. To avoid damage to the wet
clutch, always use JASO-certified engine oil, commonly sold as
motorcycle engine oil.
15. Start the engine and allow it to run for 2-3 minutes. While the
engine is running, check for oil leaks. If an oil leak is found,
turn the engine o immediately and check for the cause.
16. Turn the engine off. Recheck the oil level and correct it if
necessary.
