Why is my Char-Broil Patio Bistro not heating?
    • D
      Daniel AdamsJul 30, 2025
Your Char-Broil Grill might not be heating due to several reasons. Ensure the controller knob is set to 5 HIGH, and the controller is fully seated in the heating element bracket with the grill properly plugged into the outlet. A faulty controller or heating element may need replacement. Avoid using other electrical appliances on the same circuit. Keep the controller and electrical connections dry, and do not use the grill in the rain. Replace any damaged cords or electrical connections. Ensure sufficient preheating for 15-20 minutes and increase the controller setting if the temperature is too low. Finally, ensure you are using an appropriately rated extension cord (15 amps).

The controller indicator light on your Char-Broil Grill might not be lit due to normal controller cycling. Try increasing the knob setting or waiting for the light to cycle on. If that doesn't work, check the solutions for 'Grill not heating' as it could be a power issue.

What to do if my Char-Broil Patio Bistro circuit breaker trips or fuse blows?
    • D
      Daniel GomezAug 12, 2025
If your Char-Broil Grill causes the circuit breaker to trip or the fuse to blow, it could be due to a power surge. Check for tripped household circuit breakers or GFI (Ground Fault Interrupter) and reset or replace them if necessary. It may also be that another appliance is plugged into the same circuit as the grill. Try using a different outlet, preferably on a different circuit.

If the burner(s) on your Char-Broil Grill won't light using the ignitor, here are some things to check: Make sure the valves are correctly positioned inside the burner tubes. Ensure the burner tubes aren't blocked by spider webs or other debris. Also, verify that your LP cylinder isn't empty. If not empty, there may be an issue with gas flow. Try turning off the knobs, disconnecting the coupling nut from the LP cylinder, and then reconnecting it. You might also need to tighten the coupling nut a bit more (hand-tighten only). Inspect the electrode, ensuring its tip points towards the gas port opening on the burner at a distance of 1/8” to 1/4” or 1/8” to 3/16” and adjust if needed.
