USING THE WAFFLE CONE MAKER FOR FIRST TIME
Set the Color Control Dial to about 2 ½ to 3. Close the lid. Insert the wae cone maker
power cord into a 120V-60HZ outlet. Let it warm up and cycle a few times - about 5
minutes. The Green and Red lights will go on and o alternately a few times.
Spray or wipe the wae plates lightly with a vegetable oil spray the first time you use
the wae cone maker and anytime thereafter should your wae cones stick.
BAKING WAFFLE CONE TIPS
Use one of our recommended wae cone recipes included here or select a family
favorite. The mixture should be adjusted with a bit of oil or a pinch more flour so that it
is of a consistency to spoon easily and run slowly but not freely from a small ladle.
One wae takes a little less than ¼ cup (or 3 tablespoons) of batter. Find a spoon just
this size or use a measuring cup. For best results, do not overfill the wae iron.
BAKING YOUR FIRST WAFFLE CONE
When the green light is ON, ladle the appropriate
amount of batter directly in the center or slightly
above the center of the wae pattern. Promptly
close the lid. As you close the lid, the latching
mechanism under the lid handle should snap
securely under the base of the wae cone maker,
thus locking down the lid. If the latch does not
automatically snap under the base, use your finger
to depress the release arm (Figure 2) to complete
the latching action.
Lift the lid carefully in 60 seconds to check the
color of your first wae. If it is too light, bake
another 20 to 40 seconds.
It may take a few tries to find the best setting of the Color Control Dial; it is finely
calibrated and sensitive.
A small movement of the Color Control Dial makes a noticeable dierence in the color
of the cone. For best results, adjust the Color Control Dial ½ grade higher to darken the
cone and ½ grade lower to lighten the cone. When you have the setting just as you like,
the green and red lights usually can be used to time your baking cycle.
