The Chord Electronics 2yu is a digital interface designed to connect with the 2go, forming a network bridge for use with a Digital-to-Analog Converter (DAC), a DAC-equipped device, or the Hugo M Scaler. This user manual provides comprehensive information for safe and successful operation, covering essential user instructions for everyday use.
Function Description:
The 2yu acts as a digital interface, receiving data from the 2go and outputting it to a connected audio system. It features an array of digital outputs, including USB Type-A, BNC coaxial, RCA coaxial, and optical. While all outputs can be connected simultaneously, only the selected output will be active at any given time. Users can choose between USB output or a combined optical/RCA/BNC output mode, where all three are active concurrently. The device supports automatic downsampling for compatibility with legacy DACs. If the incoming signal's sample rate exceeds the selected output's capability, the 2yu will automatically downsample it.

Usage Features:
- Connection to 2go: The 2yu must be securely docked with the 2go using the provided locking pins and hex bolts. Proper alignment and tightening are crucial to prevent damage.
- Powering On/Off: The 2yu does not have an internal battery and requires continuous power from the 2go. To power on, connect the included 5V 2A Micro USB adapter to the 2go and press the power button once. All four buttons on the 2yu should illuminate. To power off, press and hold the power button until it turns RED.
- Output Selection: With both 2go and 2yu switched on, the OUTPUT button allows users to scroll between USB output (indicated by a white button color) and optical/RCA/BNC coaxial output (indicated by a yellow button color).
- Mute Function: The MUTE button allows users to mute the output without pausing the signal. This feature is available only in optical/RCA/BNC coaxial mode (red button for muted, green for unmuted); USB is a native pass-through.
- Dimmer Function: The DIM button adjusts the brightness of the 2yu's buttons across four levels: Off (white), Low (red), Medium (orange), High (yellow), and Full (light pink).
- Firmware and Software Updates: Before use, it is essential to ensure the 2go firmware (V 1.5.0 or later) and Gofigure software (iOS V2.08(22) or Android v1.2.126 or later) are updated to the latest versions. Updates can be found on the Chord Electronics website.
Maintenance Features:
- Cleaning: Never allow the 2yu to come into contact with water or other liquids. Do not spray cleaner directly onto the device. Only use a clean microfibre cloth to clean the casing.
- User Serviceability: There are no user-serviceable components within the 2yu. Users should never attempt to open, dismantle, or apply internal third-party devices to it. Doing so may damage the product and will void the warranty.
- Power Supply: Only use the included 5V 2A Micro USB adapter. Using third-party power supplies may damage the product and void the warranty.
- Warranty: The 2yu comes with a three-year warranty covering defects in materials and workmanship under fair wear and tear. Product registration via the Chord Electronics website is recommended for optimal after-sales support. In case of a warranty claim, contact the supplying dealer first.
- Always read the safety document included in the box before using the product.
- The 2yu is designed to be used exclusively with the 2go and will not function independently.
- When connecting to a DAC, ensure the DAC is powered on and connected before setting up the 2yu's USB output to ensure proper signal detection.
- For optimal performance and to achieve maximum sample rates for certain outputs, a high-quality cable is required.
- If using a non-Chord Electronics DAC or M Scaler, consult the device's manual for input limitations to ensure compatibility.
