Provide Engine Model and Engine Serial Number for replacement parts.
Warrants against defects in material or workmanship for SIX MONTHS after delivery.
Engine model and serial number are on a plate on the manifold for parts orders and correspondence.
Run carefully until parts are worn in; avoid prolonged low RPM operation.
Open throttle slightly, prime fuel system, depress starter until engine starts.
Watch the oil pressure gauge; abnormal readings indicate serious trouble.
Use good quality SAE #30 oil; marine engines have higher requirements.
Replace break-in oil with SAE #30 after 10-15 hours, then every 50-100 hours.
Set ignition timing using a timing light and flywheel mark.
Check clearance after 10-20 hours and every 100 hours; adjust to .010" intake, .020" exhaust.
Adjust lock screw and finger plate if the gear slips in forward drive.
Tighten the adjustment nut on the brake band if the drum slips in reverse.
Drain all water, oil, and fuel. Flush salt water passages with fresh water.
Ensure proper alignment using a feeler gauge for parallel coupling faces.
Diagram shows 12-volt system connections, including generator circuit specifications.
