Important:
Always follow these instructions when changing your gear cables! Never open
the shiftbox before releasing the tension of the return springs by unscrewing
the cable retainer rst! Pay special attention to not bending parts through
improper handling, to ensure a permanently reliable operation of the ratchets.
Ratchets and tooth ring can be cleaned using compressed air. Only use low
viscosity oil with maximum SAE10 to lubricate the switch unit. Do not use
highly viscous lubricants or grease, as those can aect the proper function of
the ratchet mechanism! A change of gear cables is always conducted with the
shiftbox detached from the hub and removed shift cable index housings.
Required materials
• 2 shifter cables ( max. cable-end diameter 4.5 mm)
• 9 mm wrench or spanner
• 2.5 mm Allen key
1 Dismount the shift box from the gearbox. Remove the cable retainers
with a 9 mm wrench or spanner and unscrew it from the housing.
The return springs are extended and are then free from the shift box.
