4b Shift:R Road Position the quickadjuster correctly and direct the cable
to the cable xing bolt. The shift cable needs to be slightly preloaded
before securing the xing bolt (4 Nm). Microadjust with the quickadjusters.
Cut the cable approx. 10 mm behind the last cable channel and attach
the end cap.
5 Check the shifting function by pushing the levers one at a time.
If proper shifting function is not given, proceed as follows:
Important: If one lever cannot be pushed through entirely, reduce the
cable tension by loosening the opposite cable adjuster until a welldened
shifting function is reached.
Opposed to a derailleur shifting system there should be a little bit of sag
in the cable tension (few millimeters of lever movement before the cable
is completely tight). Otherwise when you push one lever, the other inactive
side of the ratchet mechanism will not be correctly released and malfunc-
tions may occur.
If one lever can be pushed through without or with only partial shifting
function, fasten the cable adjuster on the same side. In case the adjuster
doesn’t have enough adjustment range, refasten the shifter cables with
a little more tension, as described in step 4.
