Overview

This document describes the CIPU Robotic Swimming Pool Cleaner, Model CPCR786, an advanced automatic swimming pool cleaner designed to independently scrub, vacuum, and filter swimming pools. It is a fully automatic unit that requires no installation or attachments, simply being dropped into the pool and turned on.

Function Description:

The CIPU Robotic Swimming Pool Cleaner is designed to provide efficient and thorough cleaning of swimming pools. It operates by scrubbing, vacuuming, and filtering the pool water, removing debris and maintaining cleanliness. The cleaner is equipped with electronic self-diagnostics and overload protection, ensuring safe and reliable operation. It is capable of servicing pools of all shapes. The unit has two outlets, and the direction angle of each outlet is adjustable during operation, allowing for customization of the cleaning path. The cleaner is programmed to run through a cleaning cycle, during which it may stop and reverse in the middle of the pool, which is a normal part of its programmed operation.

Usage Features:

The cleaner is designed for ease of use. To start, the unit is placed in the pool, where it will slowly sink as air is released. The floating cable is then connected to the power supply control box, ensuring a correct clockwise connection. The power supply should be connected to a GFCI-protected 115V~ AC outlet. The control box must be securely fixed to the ground or wall at the specified minimum distance from the pool edge before operation.

The power supply has two settings, CYCLE I (1 Hour Shut-off for small pools) and CYCLE II (2 Hour Shut-off for large pools), which are selected by pressing a button. After selecting the cycle mode, the START button is pressed to begin cleaning. If the cycle mode needs to be changed during operation, the STOP button should be pressed first, then the new mode selected, and START pressed again after 5 seconds.

It is crucial not to operate the cleaner out of the water, as this can cause severe damage and void the warranty. The power button should only be switched to the "I" position when the unit is submerged. When the cleaning cycle is complete, it is best to switch the power switch to "O" position. After cleaning, the power supply should be switched OFF before removing the cleaner from the pool. The cleaner should be removed from the water by pulling the cable until it reaches the surface, then lifting it out using the handle, not the cable. The floating cable should be kept straight before and after use and should not be reeled around the arm. The cleaner should be removed from the pool after each use to avoid additional service requirements.

Maintenance Features:

Regular maintenance is essential for optimal performance and longevity of the cleaner.

  • Filter Bag Cleaning: The filter bags should be thoroughly cleaned after each use or as often as needed, especially when the pool is excessively dirty. A filter cleaning solution can be used to remove excessive dirt and/or sand. The cleaner's cover can be opened by pressing a button, revealing the filter bags. The filter bags are removed by gently pulling on the elastic band around the suction ports, then turning them inside out to undo the Velcro tabs. A garden hose can be used to clean the filter bag.
  • Moving Parts Inspection: Periodically inspect the venture to ensure no debris or hair has clogged the impeller. The impeller can be cleaned by spraying it with a garden hose. Any debris accumulated on the wheels should also be removed.
  • Cable Care: With continued use, the cable may become coiled. To correct this, periodically stretch the cord out in the sun to help remove any twists. The cable should also be checked periodically for any external damage.
  • Storage: When not in the water, the cleaner should be stored in a dry, shady location at temperatures between 4°C and 46°C.
  • Troubleshooting: If the cleaner fails to pick up debris, cleaning the filter bags is the first step. If the cleaner starts momentarily but then stops, the impeller may be clogged. For pools with a lot of sand, rinsing the main body base, cover, and outlet may be necessary. If the cleaner has poor coverage, check the filter, ensure it's not caught on drains or toys, and try starting it in different locations. If debris falls from the cleaner when removed, it may indicate filter overload, requiring more frequent cleaning. Ensure no large debris blocks the inlets. Drain flaps should be checked and snapped back into place if out of position.
  • Important Notes: The sealed Motor Unit and Power Supply contain no user-serviceable parts; opening them will void the warranty. Remove items like thermometers and toys from the pool before operation to prevent jams and damage.
