Upgrading the Cisco 2821 and Cisco 2851 Fan Unit
Step 5 Remove the router cover. Follow these steps:
a. Use a number 2 Phillips screwdriver to remove the three screws at the back of the top cover. Set the
screws aside in a safe place.
b. Lift the cover up at a 45-degree angle, as shown in Figure 4.

Slide the cover to the side (toward the side with the fans) until the tabs are free from the slots, as
shown in Figure 4.
d. Lift the cover away from the router chassis, and set the cover aside.
