Figure 4-10 shows the cabling for a DS3 subtended network configuration.

Step 3 On the first subtended node chassis backplane, attach the end of the coaxial cable used in Step 2 to the
RX BNC for DS3 Port 1 on the I/O card.
Step 4 On the subtending host chassis backplane, attach one end of a coaxial cable to the RX BNC connector
for DS3 Port 2 on the I/O card.
Step 5 On the first subtended node chassis backplane, attach the end of the coaxial cable used in Step 4 to the
TX BNC connector for DS3 Port 1 on the I/O card.
Step 6 On the subtending host chassis backplane, attach one end of a coaxial cable to the TX BNC connector
for DS3 Port 3 on the I/O card.
Step 7 On the first subtended node chassis backplane, attach the end of the coaxial cable used in Step 6 to the
RX BNC for DS3 Port 1 on the I/O card.
Step 8 On the subtending host chassis backplane, attach one end of a coaxial cable to the RX BNC connector
for DS3 Port 3 on the I/O card.
