Product Overview
Simplified Management
Like many other Cisco fixed-configuration
switches, Cisco 2950 Series switches
feature embedded Graphical User Interface
(GUI)-based Device Manager, enabling
network managers to quickly and easily
configure their switches. With Cisco Network
Assistant, a PC-based software application,
customers can also simultaneously
configure and troubleshoot multiple Cisco
Catalyst switches using a standard Web
browser. Cisco Network Assistant provides
configuration wizards that greatly simplify the
implementation of converged networks and
intelligent network services.
Specialized Models
The Cisco Catalyst 2950 Series includes
special models that extend intelligent
Ethernet services to far-flung locations
and harsh environments. Cisco Catalyst
2955 switches feature industrial-grade
components designed to withstand extreme
vibrations, shocks, and temperatures (-40˚
to 140˚ F), enabling manufacturers to extend
Ethernet to the factory floor to improve
communication and increase productivity.
