Tape
Operation
Loading
tapes
1)
When
the
OPEN
button
Mis
pressed,
the
slo-
ping
panel
opens.
“The
sloping
panel
closes
if
a
cassette
tape
is
not
loaded
within
30
seconds.
“Ifa
cassette
tape
is
already
loaded,
it
is
ejected.
2)
Insert
the
cassette
tape
into
the
sfot
with
the
exposed
tape
side
to
the
right.
Playback
starts
and
the
sloping
panel
closes.
The
metal
tape
setting
ts
set
automaticafly
when
a
metal
or
chrome
tape
is
loaded.
“When
the
end
of
the
cassette
tape
Is
reached,
the
auto
reverse
mechanism
is
activated
and
the
other
side
of
the
tape
begins
playing
automatically,

Listening

a
tape
which

already
loaded
Press
the
FUNC
button

select
the
tape

Playback
begins
automatically.
“When
the
ARX9170R

switched

another
mode
during

tion,
the
tape
mechanism
automatically
stops
once
the
operation
is
compieted.

eject

The

a
cassette
tape
is
not
loa-
ded
within
30
seconds.

unit
switches
to

radio
mode
automatically

seconds
after
the
eject
button
is
pressed.

When

SCN

pears
on
the
display,

the
first

seconds

tracks

cassette
tape
are
played.
Press
the
SCN
button
again
to
stop
scanning.
Repeat
function
When
the
RPT
button

pressed,
"RPT”
ap-
pears
on
the
display
and
the
current
track
is
played
repeatedly.
Press
the
RPT
button
again
to
cancel
the
repeat
mode.

Noise
Reduction
System
Press
the
DOLBY
NR
button

the
Dolby
NR
mode
(“8B
NR”
or
“C
NR").
The
mode
switches
as
follows
each
time
the
DOLBY
NR
button
is
pressed:

function
Use
this
function
to
automatically
skip
to
the
begin-
ning
of
the
next
recorded
section
when
there
is
a
blank
section
of
12
seconds
or
more
on
the
tape.

the

the
up
and
down
buttons

to
select
“UTILITY”,

is
lit
on
the

total
of
24
stations
can
be
preset,

each
for
the
FM1,
FM2,
FM3
and
AM
bands.
NOTE:
When
a
station
is
preset,
the
station
previously
stored
in
the
memory
at
that
position
is
cleared.
