Function Description
The primary function of the CA-707 is dehumidification, effectively removing excess moisture from the air. This is crucial in preventing issues such as mold growth, mildew, and musty odors, which are common in humid environments. The device operates within a temperature range of 5°C to 32°C, ensuring optimal performance in various indoor conditions. When the ambient temperature is too low (e.g., at 5°C), the machine may not be necessary as the absolute temperature of the environment is very low, and it might automatically stop running to protect its components. During operation, the machine may produce a small amount of heat, which is a normal phenomenon and contributes to a slight increase in room temperature.
In addition to dehumidification, the CA-707 incorporates air purifying capabilities. It features a prefilter/activated carbon filter and a UV-lamp, which work together to clean the air. The prefilter and activated carbon filter capture dust, particles, and absorb odors, while the UV-lamp provides a sterilization function, helping to eliminate airborne viruses and bacteria. This dual functionality ensures that not only is the air free from excessive moisture, but it is also cleaner and healthier to breathe.
The device is designed for continuous operation, with an automatic shut-off feature when the water tank is full. It also includes an automatic defrost function that activates if the coil sensor detects temperatures below a certain figure, preventing ice buildup and ensuring efficient operation.
Usage Features
The CA-707 is equipped with a user-friendly control panel and several operational modes to suit different needs.
- Power Control: The power button allows for easy starting and stopping of the appliance.
- Mode Control: Users can select from AUTO, HIGH, LOW, and FAN modes. In AUTO mode, the appliance automatically adjusts its operation based on the relative humidity conditions. The fan speed can be set to high or low depending on the desired dehumidification intensity.
- FAN (Ventilation Key): This key allows the user to select the FAN mode, which primarily focuses on air circulation and purification without active dehumidification.
- Lamp Function: The device features a lamp that automatically turns on when the appliance starts. The lamp's color changes to indicate the current humidity condition, with a 100-second interval between color changes:
- Red: High humidity (RH ≥ 80%)
- Green: Comfortable humidity (80% > RH ≥ 60%)
- Orange: Dry (RH ≤ 60%)
The lamp can be turned off or on by pressing the 'LAMP' key.
- OSC (Oscillating Function): This feature allows the oscillation louver to move in three different directions (45 degrees, 90 degrees, or universal) or remain fixed, ensuring even distribution of dehumidified and purified air throughout the room.
- ION (Ionization Function): Pressing the 'ION' key activates the ionization function, which releases ions into the air to refresh it, often referred to as "air vitamins."
- Timer Function: The timer allows users to program the appliance for delayed power-on or power-off. This function is useful for setting the device to operate during specific hours, with a range of 0-24 hours.
- Delayed Power-on: When the appliance is in standby, users can set a time period after which the device will automatically start.
- Delayed Power-off: When the appliance is working, users can set a time period after which the device will automatically stop.
- UV (Sterilization Function): The 'UV' key activates the UV-lamp, providing an additional layer of air purification through sterilization.
- Humidity Setting: Users can select their desired relative humidity level using the UP/DOWN keys. The default relative humidity is 55%. If a lower humidity, such as 35%, is selected, the compressor will continue to operate until the water tank is full, ensuring thorough dehumidification.
- Water Tank Full Indicator: If the water tank is full, an indicator light will come on and flash, and the appliance will automatically stop operating to prevent overflow.
- Continuous Drainage: The device offers a continuous drainage option. A 10mm diameter PCV pipe (not included) can be connected to the drainage port on the back of the unit, allowing water to flow by gravity to an external drain. It is crucial to ensure the hose is directed downwards and its end is lower than the drain opening to prevent water from backing up and causing flooding.
Maintenance Features
Regular maintenance is essential to ensure the longevity and efficient operation of the Clean Air Optima CA-707.
- Emptying the Water Tank: The water tank should be emptied regularly, especially when the tank full indicator is on. To do this, open the back cover, hold the tank by its handle, pull it out carefully, empty the water, and then return it to its position after wiping off any water residue.
- Air Filter Cleaning and Replacement: The prefilter/activated carbon filter can become clogged with dust and particles with regular use. It should be cleaned every one to two weeks.
- To clean, carefully remove the filter, clean it with a vacuum cleaner or water (not above 40°C), tap it to remove excess water, and let it dry completely before re-installing. Do not use a dishwasher or hair dryer.
- The carbon filter should be replaced approximately every three months. Replacement filters can be ordered from the Clean Air Optima website or by contacting customer service.
- General Cleaning: The machine's body should be cleaned with a soft, slightly damp cloth. Avoid using sprinkling water to prevent damage to electrical insulation. Do not use alcohol, gasoline, toluene, or other dangerous liquids for cleaning.
- Storage: If the machine will not be used for a long time, unplug the power plug. Before moving the machine, ensure all water within the water tank is poured out.
- Troubleshooting: In case of operational issues, users should first check basic elements such as the power plug, fuse, water tank placement, and filter cleanliness. If the problem persists or if the power line/plug is abnormally hot, contact the local dealer or customer service.
- Safety Precautions:
- Always allow the appliance to stand for at least two hours before powering on, especially after transportation.
- Ensure the voltage matches the rating label and the socket is grounded.
- Keep the appliance dry and avoid placing water on top of the body.
