This document describes the SWITCHMATIC series of electronic pressure switches, including models 1, 2, and 3.
Function Description
The SWITCHMATIC series are electronic pressure switches with integrated digital manometers designed to manage the start and stop of single-phase pumps.
SWITCHMATIC 1:
- Manages the start and stop of a single-phase pump up to 2.2kW (3 HP).
- Cut-in and cut-out pressures are easily adjustable via the control panel.
- Operates as a differential pressure switch or a reverse pressure switch.
SWITCHMATIC 2:
- Includes all features of SWITCHMATIC 1.
- Provides instantaneous reading of current drawn.
- Controls and manages overcurrent, dry-run operation, and fast-cycling.
- Offers the option to be synchronized with another SWITCHMATIC 2 unit to manage and protect two pumps operating in cascade with an alternated starting sequence (Groupal mode).
SWITCHMATIC 3:
- Includes all features of SWITCHMATIC 1.
- Ideal for control panels as it has a dry contact output.
Operating Characteristics (Common to all models, unless specified):
- Adjustable cut-in and cut-out pressures.
- Integrated digital pressure gauge with bar and psi indication.
- Inner pressure transmitter.
- Dry-run protection:
- Through minimum adjusted height for basic SWITCHMATIC 1/3.
- Through instantaneous current consumption (only SW2).
- Overcurrent protection (only SW2).
- Overvoltage protection.
- ART Function (Automatic Reset Test): When the device stops the pump due to dry-running, ART attempts to restart the pump on a scheduled basis to restore water supply. This function must be activated in step 6 of the ADVANCED MENU (Ar1).
- Fast cycling protection: Activated when the hydropneumatic tank has lost too much air, leading to frequent start-stop cycles. This alarm delays the pump start (rc1) or stops the pump (rc2).
- Manual start push-button (ENTER).
- 3 operation modes: differential, reverse, and synchronized.
- Control panel with 3-digit display, LED indicator lights, and push-buttons.
- Available settings: Stand-by mode, minimum period between fast cycles, start and stop delay.
- Volt-free contact for monitoring alarms (only version A).

Usage Features
Installation:
- Hydraulic Installation: Must be threaded to a G1/4" male fitting at the pump's outlet. Verify proper hydraulic system installation, especially if the hydropneumatic tank is pressurized.
- Electric Connection: Must be performed by qualified personnel in compliance with local regulations. Disconnect from electric supply before manipulations. Use a differential switch (I = 30 mA, clase A or AC) and a magnetothermic switch adapted to the motor load. Power supply must be between 115-230V (SW1-2). Use H07RN-F 3G1 or 3G1.5 cables. Earth connections are compulsory and the earth conductor must be longer than others.
Control Panel (Diagram C):
- Display: Shows instantaneous pressure or current, adjusted start/stop pressure (blinking), adjusted rated current (blinking, SW2 only), or alarm codes.
- LEDs: Indicate lit, slow-flashing, or fast-flashing states for various functions (e.g., pump operating, adjusting pressure, alarms).
- Buttons: Used for validation, adjusting values, and manual start.
Startup Procedure:
