Overview

This document serves as a user manual for a commercial modular air-cooled ice maker, providing essential information for its installation, operation, maintenance, and troubleshooting. The ice maker is designed for commercial use, offering automatic ice production and storage.

Function Description

The Coldline commercial modular air-cooled ice maker is a fully automatic appliance designed to produce ice cubes efficiently. Once properly installed and connected to a potable water source and power supply, the machine will initiate ice making automatically. It features a self-regulating system that stops ice production when the storage bin is full and resumes when ice is removed. The ice-making process involves pre-cooling, water pump activation to circulate water over an evaporator, gradual formation of ice cubes, and an ice harvest cycle where hot gas enters the evaporator to release the cubes into the storage bin.

The control panel allows for various operations and adjustments, including starting and stopping the device, adjusting ice cube thickness, and initiating a cleaning cycle. The machine is equipped with safety features such as automatic shutdown in case of certain faults like high system temperature, water shortage, or prolonged ice harvest time. Voice prompts are available on models with this function to guide users through operations.

Usage Features

The ice maker is intended for indoor use in commercial settings such as kitchens in stores, offices, hotels, restaurants, and catering establishments. It is not designed for outdoor use or residential applications. For optimal performance, the machine requires a stable ambient temperature between 5-40°C and a potable water supply with specific pressure and temperature ranges. Adequate ventilation space around the unit is crucial for air-cooled models to ensure proper cooling and prevent overheating.

Users can adjust the ice cube thickness to their preference via the control panel. The machine performs a self-check upon power-on and goes through a preparatory phase before starting ice production. During operation, it's important to ensure water flows evenly over the evaporator and that the compressor and fan (for air-cooled models) are functioning normally. The ice maker is designed to produce a batch of ice within 10 to 20 minutes, with the duration varying based on ambient and water temperatures.

Safety warnings emphasize the importance of disconnecting power and water sources during thunderstorms or extended periods of non-use. Users are also cautioned against inserting objects into ventilation ports due to rotating components inside. Gentle handling of the storage bin door is recommended, and it should be kept closed after ice removal to maintain hygiene and efficiency.

Maintenance Features

Regular maintenance is crucial for the longevity and safe operation of the ice maker. All maintenance and repair tasks must be performed by qualified professional personnel. Before any manual cleaning or maintenance, the power and water supply to the machine must be disconnected.

Exterior Cleaning: The environment around the ice machine should be kept clean, and vents must not be blocked. The outer enclosure can be cleaned with a mild detergent and wiped dry. Commercial stainless steel cleaners and polishes can be used for stainless steel surfaces to prevent rust.

Inlet Water Filter: The machine is equipped with an inlet water filter to remove impurities. This filter element should be inspected regularly and replaced every 1 to 3 months, depending on water quality and usage. The filter's flow direction must be correctly installed as per the direction marker.

Interior Cleaning: The ice storage bin can be washed directly with water pipes. It's important to check that the water pressure is within the allowed maximum to avoid damaging the water pump or evaporator. The ice sliding board, water distribution pipe, water supply pipe, and water pump should also be cleaned and sterilized.

Cleaning Function: The ice maker has a dedicated cleaning cycle. To initiate, hold the "clean" button for 3 seconds. During this process, cleaning agents and disinfectants should be manually added to the water trough. The machine will perform an auto-clean for about 15 minutes, followed by a rinsing process. After the cleaning cycle, the first five batches of ice should be discarded to ensure no cleaner residue remains.

Condenser Cleaning (Air-Cooled Models): For air-cooled units, the condenser should be cleaned every three weeks. A soft brush or vacuum cleaner with a brush attachment should be used to clean the fins, brushing up and down along the fin direction to avoid damage. The condenser filter should be cleaned every two weeks. Care must be taken during condenser cleaning due to sharp fin edges.

Wintering: For extended periods of non-use or in cold environments, the machine should be winterized by turning off the water and power supply, and draining all residual water from the water trough, inlet pipe, and drain pipe.

The manual explicitly states that damage caused by improper installation, cleaning, or maintenance not in accordance with the instructions, unauthorized modifications, use of non-native parts, or issues related to power/water supply and drainage are not covered under warranty. Warranty service should only be provided by an agent or repair organization approved by the manufacturer.
