TO INSTALL OR REPLACE BATTERIES
Carefully read all instructions before use and save for future reference. Your new
Exponent
®
flashlight operates on “CR123A” lithium cell batteries.
1. Rotate end cap counterclockwise to remove. (Fig. 1)
2. Install “CR123A” batteries in the correct orientation as shown
on the battery housing. Make certain all batteries are installed
correctly. (Fig. 2 & Fig. 3)
3. Replace end cap and rotate clockwise until tightened.

OPERATING INSTRUCTIONS
Your Exponent
®
flashlight allows you to choose the type of lighting you prefer;
standard white light or a bright red light. Select the color of light as follows:
1. Rotate the collar to the right until the “R” symbol is aligned with the
selection indicator for red lighting; or to the left until the “W” symbol is aligned
with the selection indicator for white lighting. (Fig. 6)
2. When the “ ” (Lock-out feature) is aligned with the selection indicator, the
flashlight will not turn on. (Fig. 6)
3. After selecting the color of light, turn on the flashlight by pushing the 4-position
tail cap (rubber button) (Fig. 7). The number of times you push the button will let
you choose your lighting preference:
• Once for on and full brightness
• Twice for more subdued lighting
• Three times for flashing emergency signal light
• Fourth will turn flashlight off.
4. Your flashlight is equipped with “Smart Switch” technology. Push button to cycle
through settings, but if left on any setting for a few seconds, the next activation
turns off flashlight.

TO ATTACH COLLAPSIBLE LANTERN TO “CR123A” FLASHLIGHT
1. Insert the threaded end of the collapsible lantern into the “light” end of the
“CR123” flashlight. (Fig. 4)
2. Turn collapsible lantern clockwise to secure. (Fig. 4)
NOTE: To avoid damage to the collapsible lantern or flashlight, do not
overtighten.
TO OPEN COLLAPSIBLE LANTERN
1. While firmly holding flashlight, grasp end of collapsible lantern and pull out
until fully extended. (Fig. 5)
2. Set the opened lantern on a level surface or hang with the attached lanyard to illuminate a desired area.
