      wavilaAug 18, 2025
If your Columbia Snow Blower engine won't start, make sure the choke is in the CHOKE position. Also, check that the spark plug wire is connected to the spark plug. The fuel tank may be empty or contain stale fuel, so fill it with clean, fresh gasoline. Ensure the engine is primed as instructed in the Operation section, and verify the spark plug isn't faulty—clean, adjust the gap, or replace it if necessary. Lastly, make sure the key is fully inserted into the switch.

What to do if my Columbia 500 Snow Blower engine is running erratically?
    • M
      Matthew CarlsonAug 27, 2025
If the Columbia Snow Blower engine runs erratically with inconsistent RPM (hunting or surging), first ensure the engine isn't running on CHOKE by moving the choke lever to the RUN position. Stale fuel can also cause this issue, so fill the tank with clean, fresh gasoline. Additionally, check for water or dirt in the fuel system; if present, drain the fuel tank and refill with fresh fuel. If these steps do not resolve the issue, it is recommended to contact an authorized Service Center, because the carburetor may be out of adjustment or the engine may be over-governed.
