Maintenance Features:

  • Periodic Maintenance: The humidifier requires periodic maintenance.
  • Cleaning the Humidifier (Recommended weekly or more often if hard water is used, impurities build up, or unpleasant odors are noticed):
    • Always turn off and unplug the humidifier before cleaning.
    • Exterior: Periodically wipe the outside with a damp or wet soft cloth. Do not use harsh, abrasive cleaners. Never submerge the housing in liquid or pour liquid into or on it, as this can cause damage and injury.
    • Water Basin: Mineral deposits will accumulate over time. The water basin should be cleaned when this occurs.
    • Tank Cleaning: Put 1/2 teaspoon of chlorine bleach and 1/2 gallon of water in the tank. Let the solution sit for about 20 minutes, swishing every few minutes. Empty the tank and rinse well until the bleach odor is gone. Be careful not to splash the solution on surfaces/clothing that may be damaged. Do not operate the humidifier with the chlorine bleach solution in the tank.
  • End of Season Care and Storage:
    • Empty the tank and tray of water.
    • Clean all surfaces with a damp, soft cloth.
    • Once completely dry, store the humidifier in its original carton in a cool, dry, clean location.
    • Clean and inspect the humidifier before using it the next season.

    • Cause: Power cord not plugged in/switch off, no water in tank.
    • Solution: Plug in cord/turn on switch, fill water tank.
  • Indicator illuminated (air, no mist):
    • Cause: Mist Control Dial not turned up, water level float cap not down, water level in bath too high.
    • Solution: Turn Mist Control Dial clockwise, confirm float cap is not stuck, remove some water from the basin, screw down the float cap.
  • Indicator illuminated (no air/fog):
    • Cause: Water level in the water bath is too high.
    • Solution: Remove some water from the unit's water basin.
  • Reduced mist output:
    • Cause: Scale formation on transducer, dirty water, water stored too long.
