Do you have a question about the ComfortStar CLA12CA-T and is the answer not in the manual?

Overview

This document is an instruction manual for ComfortStar Split Type Air Conditioners, covering models CLA12CA-T, CLA12CD-T, CLA18CD-T, CLA24CD-T, CIP12CA-HT, CIP12CD-HT, CIP18CD-HT, and CIP24CD-HT. It provides essential information for installation, operation, and maintenance to ensure optimal performance and user safety.

Function Description

The ComfortStar Split Type Air Conditioner is designed to provide cooling, heating (for heat pump models), dehumidification, and fan-only ventilation for domestic environments. It consists of an indoor unit and an outdoor unit connected by refrigerant piping and electrical wiring.

Operating Modes:

  • Cooling Mode: Cools the room and reduces air humidity.
  • Heating Mode: Heats the room (for heat pump models). During heating, the appliance may automatically activate a defrost cycle to clean frost from the condenser and recover heat exchange function. This typically lasts 2-10 minutes, during which the indoor unit fan stops. A forced defrosting option is available for North American markets by pressing the ECO button 10 times within 8 seconds in heating mode.
  • Dry Mode: Reduces air humidity for increased comfort.
  • Fan Only Mode: Provides air ventilation without cooling or heating.
  • Auto Mode: Automatically selects the operating mode based on the room temperature.

Special Functions:

  • Timer ON/OFF: Allows automatic switching on or off of the appliance at a set time.
  • SWING Function: Controls the movement of horizontal flaps (up/down) and vertical deflectors (left/right) to adjust airflow direction.
  • TURBO Function: Activates quick cooling or heating with the highest fan speed for strong airflow.
  • MUTE Function: Operates the indoor unit at the lowest fan speed for a quiet experience. Not available in dry mode.
  • ECO Function: Automatically sets the operation to save energy, available in both cooling and heating modes.
  • SLEEP Function: Activates a pre-setting automatic operating program. After 10 hours, the air conditioner returns to the previously set mode.
  • DISPLAY Function: Switches the LED display on the indoor unit panel ON or OFF.
  • I FEEL Function (Optional): Enables the remote control to measure the temperature at its current location and send this signal to the air conditioner to optimize the temperature around the user. Automatically deactivates after 2 hours.
  • GEN Function (Optional): A specific function that can be activated and deactivated, with different operating gears (L3, L2, L1, OF).
  • SELF-CLEAN Function (Optional): Helps carry away accumulated dirt and bacteria from the indoor evaporator. Runs for about 30 minutes and then returns to the pre-setting mode. Available for some heating pump inverter appliances.
  • Gentle Wind Function (Optional): Closes vertical flaps to provide a comfortable gentle wind feeling.
  • Health Function (Optional): Initiates Ionizer/Plasma/Bipolar Ionizer/UVC Lights (depending on models) for air purification.
  • 8°C Heating Function (Optional): Automatically starts heating mode when the room temperature is below 8°C (46°F) and returns to standby when it reaches 9°C (48°F). Cancels automatically if the room temperature is higher than 18°C (64°F).
  • I SET Function (Optional): Allows users to memory their favorite temperature, mode, and fan speed settings for quick recall with one button press.
  • Child-Lock Function: Locks the remote control buttons to prevent accidental changes.
