TORQUES SETTING / TYRES
TORQUE SETTINGS
To guarantee your bike’s reliability, it is essential that all bolts be torqued
up using the recommended torque settings. It is only possible to do this
with a torque wrench.
The torque setting value needed for a particular component is generally
inscribed directly on the component, or in the manufacturers manual
delivered with the bicycle.
In the event that the torque setting value is not mentioned above please
refer to the values mentioned below.
Bolt type
Torque setting
(in Newton meters)
Torque setting
(in Pound-force foot)
Bolt M4 4,5 - 5,5 N.m 3 - 4,1 Lb ft
Bolt M5 5,5 - 6,5 N.m 4,1 - 4,8 Lb ft
Bolt M6 9,8 - 11,7 N.m 7,2 - 8,6 Lb ft
Bolt M8 22 - 24 N.m 16,2 - 17,7 Lb ft
Bolt M10 30 - 35 N.m 22,2 - 25,9 Lb ft
WARNING! If the torque settings are not respected, you run the risk of a
sudden break of either one or several components on your bicycle. This
can result in a crash, and eventually serious injuries.
