How to fix a noisy Commercial Electric 1009 847 948?
    • S
      Shelly HoweAug 10, 2025
To reduce fan noise, ensure all motor housing screws are snug and that the screws attaching the fan blades to the motor hub are tight. Also, check that wire nut connections are not rattling against each other or the switch housing's interior wall. Allow the fan a 24-hour 'breaking-in' period, as most noises disappear during this time. If your fan has a ceiling light kit, make sure the glassware is secured tightly and that there is a short distance from the ceiling to the canopy, without it touching the ceiling. Finally, ensure your ceiling box is secure, using rubber isolator pads between the mounting bracket and outlet box.

What to do if my Commercial Electric Fan won't start?
    • M
      Michael FordAug 18, 2025
If your fan won't start, begin by checking the main and branch circuit fuses or breakers. Then, inspect the line wire connections to the fan and the switch wire connections in the switch housing. Ensure that the frequency switches on both the remote control and receiver are set to the same frequency. Try turning the AC power off, waiting 10 seconds, and then turning it back on. Finally, reset the transmitter by performing the “LEARNING PROCESS”.

Why is my Commercial Electric 1009 847 948 Fan wobbling?
    • R
      rrogersAug 26, 2025
Fan wobble is often due to loose parts. First, make sure all blades and blade bracket screws are secure. After proper installation, let the ceiling fan run for 10 minutes to self-adjust. If wobbling continues, check the blade level: measure from each blade's center to a point on the ceiling, deviations should be within 1/8 inch. If deviations exceed 1/8 inch, contact Customer Service at 1-833-HDFANS-1 / (1-833-433-2671) to order complimentary replacements of your brackets. If deviations are less than 1/8 inch, call Customer Service to order a complimentary blade balancing kit.

Why does my Commercial Electric 1009 847 948 move backwards and forwards when turned on?
    • M
      Mary AguirreSep 2, 2025
This start-up movement is normal for DC motor fans. The partial movement is the DC motor aligning the internal magnetic poles for proper operation. This design saves electricity and allows the fan to operate much quieter than standard AC motor fans.
